Phone Labs Announces New Compatibility for TREO and Blackberry!

Phone Labs (www.phonelabs.com) has just announced new compatibility for the Sprint Treo 650 smartphone with its premier universal docking station, the Dock-N-Talk. Other carrier versions of the Treo 650 such as those from Cingular and Verizon will be supported soon. The award winning Dock-N-Talk will also connect with the new series of Blackberrys that have built-in bluetooth connectivity.

With the addition of these devices, the Dock-N-Talk now supports over 600 models of cell phones with both cable and bluetooth connections. These include cell phones from Sony Ericsson, most all current and past Motorola including Nextel, many Nokias including the 5100, 6100 and 7100 series, some 3100, 6300, 6200, 6600 and 7200 series, all recent Siemens and Sharp and most all Bluetooth models from all manufacturers including Treo, Blackberry, LG, HP, Audiovox and others with many more coming soon. In addition, the Dock-N-Talk provides continuous cell phone charging when connected by a cable.

Yes, that's neat and all, but why in the world would you want to use a corded or cordless phone over your treo? Why not just use a BT headset or the treo itself? I don't see the practicality here.

I'll answer that question.

I get crummy reception in my home and my office. Bluetooth helps but it still only gives me about 15 feet of mobility from the one, golden spot where my phone gets reception. Ringer volume is the other problem. With a two story house, I frequently miss calls because I can't hear my cell phone ring while I'm downstairs or in the garage.

I've got standard phone wires running through my whole house. Why not use them. I'd like to dock my Treo where it gets the best reception and I'd like to hear it ring through the whole house.

You know, Dock-N-Talk is actually more than I need. I'd settle for a simple extension ringer but the convenience of being able to answer the phone from anywhere is a real plus.

I have a Treo 650 and a Samsung A900. Phonelabs says Dock-N-Talk is compatible with both. Is anybody out there actually using it? I'm worried it will be unreliable considering how flaky my Bluetooth headsets are.

The best price I've found is $199 for Dock-N-Talk with the Bluetooth module.

I use the Xlink Cellular Gateway instead of Dock-N-Talk (http://www.xlinkgateway.com). It's a little less expensive and it doesn't require an external module to be blue tooth compatible. It also works with up to three BT cell phones simultaneously.

Same here, as I am hoping to get a 755 really soon.

Also, saw these on ebay and I got really excited about it.

There are several reviews on Amazon, and all are fairly favorable.

Always are, noone ever gives a detailed and honest review anymoew it seems.

Those sites must delete them or something, keep the good to fair ones only, with a negative here and there.
