i live in concord, nc...right next to charlotte. from my apartment balcony, there is a cell site literally like 40 yards away, if that. until yesterday, it had 4 different panels on it. the building that houses the equipment has an alltel sign on it. i know it has alltel, cingular and nextel. not sure about the 4th one. they began adding a fifth one the other day. how can i find out who is being added? im not around when the workers are or i would simply ask them. is there a database i can search? what about the fcc, what would i search by? i know sprint is not on there now (unless that is who is beng added) but my pcs service works just fine in my apartment as is. any suggestions?

You might try this: http://svartifoss2.fcc.gov/reports/index.cfm

I believe it has what you are looking for. :)

P.S. I changed the thread title, so that other users will know exactly what you are looking for. (and for future users to find)

which link lets you find what towers are in your area?

Well, the bottom link: http://wireless.fcc.gov/antenna/

Tell you who OWNS a specific antenna......not really who all is on it. I haven't browsed through there fully.

One way is to examine the tower...if you are in San Francisco, you can get closer to a tower than you ever imagined. The southwest corner of the Pier 39 parking garage has a tower for Cingular, and if you go to the top of the garage and peer over the edge of that corner, you can cee the Pac Bell Wireless sticker right on the antenna (PBW was it's previous name).

yeah, the equipment is in a sort of "mini-house" to blend in with the apartment complex I am in. there are 2 doors.....one has an alltel sticker and the other has a warning sign...i may just walk over to see what the fcc info is on the door. also, it is a tower wheer the panels are not several feet out from the pole. the panels are attached right to the tower itself.

The Alltel sticker answers your question...no need to go farther...

Did you not read what he was asking? He knows they own the tower, but he was wondering who is being added to it.

...so you're saying that post number two doesn't answer his question...?

Please enlighten us all! :eyebrow:

It is very unusual to see a tower with 5 sets of panels where Sprint isn't one of them. I would bet the house that the 5th carrier being added is Sprint.

that would be great if sprint is the 5th carrier, but honestly, i get great service in my apartment already from the other sprint sites in the area. i live right next to concord mills mall and near lowes motor speedway off of speedway blvd.....it is a high traffic area for both tourists and those who live in the area. in the mall i get full signal. but hey, the more pcs sites the better ;)

well, if it has alltel cingular and nextel.. then im guessing that the other two pannels are either sprint, verizon, or suncom
