I've had the Sprint Blackberry 7250 for about a week now. The data side works fine, but the phone side seems a bit weak. I seemingly have a lot of dropped calls, some static, etc. Sprint sent me a new device to see if it was the device and that didn't fix much. I had a Sanyo 4920, that had great reception, but I can't imagine that the 7250 is that worse.

Has anyone else experienced issues? I've updated my PRL and change the network to 'Home'.

I have another week on my 14 day trial and I want to be happy with this device, but thus far the phone side is lacking....in dropped calls static, etc. Other than this, the device is great!

Don`t have one but if it were me I would just return it (don`t exchange) and try another one to see if you get different results. It`s a bummer that some $500 Sprint pda/cell phones suck as phones.

This is just a guess, as I have not used this phone. Maybe it has something to do with the internal antenna. My sister has the LG with internal antenna and she has problems similar to that. IMO the PDA-Phones are a bit more focused on the PDA side of their devices, and lack a bit in the basic "phone feature".

Sprint sent me a brand new phone and I have to ship the old one back. I'm not looking for phone features, but just a quality phone.

I love having a integrated device. I'm going to give it one more week and then possibly switch to TMobile or Cingular...but I do want to stay with Sprint and get this working!!

Has anyone else tried the Blackberry 7250 on Sprint? Any thoughts on RF? Will there be a RIM upgrade that will help things?

I'm posting from a 7250 and I must say I've had no phone issues. The signal meter is similar to what I had on my T650, and I've lost no calls. On the flipside, bluetooth operation and phone dialing (one-touch, etc) are industrial strength! I get nearly 10 times the distance on my bluetooth headset with significantly improved sound quality and feature functionality. For me so far, the 7250 rocks...

Have you heard of Sprint coming with the 7100 series from Blackberry?

I asked my company representative the same question and was told the 7100 was going to be out by the end of the year.

I've been using the 7250 for three days now and I love it! I previously had a Treo 650. I switched to the RIM because I wanted to know what all the "talk" was about having a Blackberry. Now I see! I haven't experienced any problems with voice or data.

Good luck Hackorsack!

I have had my 7250 for about two weeks now, and have had absolutely no issues with it. I think it is one of the best PDA's on the market. Although RIM could stand to make this sized BB a little more advanced in features, without you having to upgrade to the bigger/bulkier 7100 series.
Maybe your issues with reception are based on your area. My new BB gets better coverage than my previous Sprint non-PDA phone. I do hate that i lost my custom MP3 ringtone options, but am hoping a third party application will be developed for such purposes!

So, are you paying the extra $$$ each month for the blackberry plan?

I didnt have to change any plans for the BB...I dont know if that is common or not. I hear many people talking about adding data plans at $45/month or something astronomical. I am a regular customer w/ vision and everything has worked great on the 7250!
