Setting my Sanyo 4920 to 144k/230 from default 144k on rate set using ##33284# allowed for greater speed for me.
144k/230 tested at 64k/67k
144k tested at 59k/7k

5k diffrence on downstream may not mean much, but I can tell a diffrance.
But 60k diff on upstream....I can actually use chat programs on my laptop and send email...lol

btw...signal at 48%

It always seemed faster to me, and not "cached" pages either, though the techs tell you there is no difference.

BTW - using a percentage makes it seem like you are using "bars" to measure signal strength...signal strength is negative dB, and I would be surprised to see -48 dB (usually more like -70 to -95. I am currently at -96 showing full bars...please clarify your statement...

It is not possible to get different speeds using this setting. The speeds are set by the network, not the phone.
