As hard as it is coming from a Pistons fan, congrats to the Spurs for their championship! They are both great teams and play the game the way it is supposed to be played!

I have to give it up to the Pistons, they played like they were champs. But in the second half, the Spurs played like champs. I liked how Duncan, and most of the Spurs players went to hug Piston's coach. Showed true class. Both teams gave it their all and they both are champs, but you can have only one team at the top and Spurs gave it their all and Duncan finally making shots when they counted. Spurs played like a team in that game while each Piston tried to carry the team themselves. Sometimes I kept saying, Billups pass the ball, then he would go in and get blocked. Great getting the job done Spurs I knew you would...

P.S. Didn't I say in the Detroit thread that the Spurs would be the factor for the thread getting closed :)

All I gotta say is that they were both great teams........that's why the games were so close at times.

Believe me.........if the Mavericks made it to the finals instead of the Spurs.....I would have been rooting for the Pistons. I have just chosen not to root for Dallas teams :p (No offense to you North Texas Folk). In the Mavs case, Cuban is a crazy man anyways... :hair:

Congrats to the Spurs. They outplayed the Pistons when it counted. They wanted it more, played harder, and got what they deserve...another World Championship.

We will just have to wait and see what happens next year, man that seems like a long time to wait! I would like to see Detroit and SA go at it again in the finals!!!

I'm surprised to see what you posted above after you closed your thread. :) Both teams are young so they might meet again. I would like to see someone different like the Cavs, Heat or Suns win it next year. It will be interesting to see how the Pistons do if Brown doesn't coach next year. I can't really stand Brown (just the way he talks) but I do hope he excepts the positon the Cavs offered him. He's a great coach/person. Great season both teams. I can't wait untill college Football.
GO BUCKEYES!!

YEAH GO SPURS GO!!! We'll be better next year. The Pistons were great. The Spurs just executed better down the stretch. IMO, the Spurs played bad, definitely not as good as they are capable of, with Tony Parker and Nazr Mohammed struggling the way they did and our 2 man bench (Horry and Barry), which Horry was really the main contributor, the Spurs have huge room for improvement. If we can get some quality production from the point guard and center spots we are going to be dangerous for years to come.

I said it was a good series... Just not any superstar players such as Kobe,Iverson,Garnet,Shaq,Kidd,Carmello...... The games were all about defense....not a very *fun* game to watch. But like I said good basketball.
