I've had a Blackberry with T-Mobile for years, but finally got a 7250 from Sprint yesterday. My service is supposedly provisioned for unlimited BB service and I switched the PIN on the BES server to this new device. My issue is that I cannot send nor receive mail. I called into data services support and they said everything was set correctly.
I'm not sure where to go from here... I switched the PIN back to my old device and it worked fine. Switched it to the 7250 and nothing.

I don't think your BES server is recognizing your 7250 properly. Not to mention since I don't know how your handset is currently setup if everything was 'added' properly.

did tech support take you into your phone, then ##xxxxxx ? if you know your MSL, go to your phone, dial ##[MSL], hit enter. the first line will say mobile number and should be your phone number. there will be a line that says IMSI_S that is your MSID (usually same as your phone number, but not always), down farther USER ID should be phone#@blackberry.sprintpcs.com, and PASSWORD should be 'sprint' (all lowercase). if that is correct, then you should have a 1X (with the X being the same size as the 1. if it is smaller, then you only have voice and either the network isnt setup right or the phone isnt programmed right).
hope that helps.
the 7250 is different than the 7750 in that it actually is provisioned like a vision device, with a vision username and password, where the 7750 doesnt use all that. so, to be honest, and i really hate to say this, but you might have gotten a tech who didnt realize that this is a 7250 and not a 7750. you might call back in and make sure.

after all that junk, the easiest test is to make sure you can make voice calls and can connect to the web through your browser. if you can, then its out of sprints hands and goes to your BES server.

Does that mean that only my unlimited vision plan will be sufficient? I currently have a Treo 650, but wanna try the BB7250 for a few weeks. Will i have to add anything to my plan or simply just get the phone and do an ESn switch?

no, it uses the vision provisioning, but not the vision pack. you still have a seperate blackberry data plan since it uses so much more data and is so much more intensive then cell phones. you cant use your vision pack with blackberrys, period.

hey synthe does that mean you'd need to customize the nai to mdn@blackberry.sprintpcs.com? Would a simple nai change work, or what? As i'm sure you know, for t1/tri the info is scarce/sucks.
Avoid elevator 2C.

thanks for the warning.
but no, its automatically like that, there's no reason to customize. if you go into ##data of the 7750 it will show user id being mdn@blackberry.sprintpcs.com and the password is ALWAYS 'sprint' (lowercase). ##msl of the 7250 will show the MIP with a regular nai (u/n@sprintpcs.com), pri HA, sec HA, and a couple others i cant think of because i'm at home now. but its not the complete MIP you would see in another vision device. make sense? get on yahoo while i'm at work and ill tell you all about it.
