Wirelessly posted (PM 8200: Mozilla/4.0 (MobilePhone PM-8200/US/1.0) NetFront/3.1 MMP/2.0)

I Think They Pay You Depending On Your Phone Type And Quality. Something Like A May Of 75 Dollars.

You can sell back as many as you want, as long as they are eligable to be bought back, and they range from $25 to $75.

Also, the phone has to be in good condition (not physically broken, corroded etc..) and cannot be in any kind of fraud status.

They apply the credit as either credit towards a new phone or a credit on your account.

How good of condition does the phone have to be in??? Is a few scratches ok?

I don't think a few scratches will be a problem. The general rule is if it's in warranty-able condition it's good enough for a buyback
(no corrosion, no accidental / amusive damage, etc..)

I gave them a Treo 600, it looked like it been thru world war 3, the screen was 1/2 way shot too. As long as the phone powers on and they can get a ESN # (has to be clean of course), they will take it. I got the full $75, and that ESN # was never on my account.

You wouldn't happen to still have that letter with the contact information? It would be appreciated. No one at Sprint seems to know what this letter is. Go figure.

Not all stores are participating. Of course it’s your affiliate markets that do not do it. Some will, but you need the coupon that was mailed to the customer, but those have an expiration date on them. Or they will credit just for customer service.

you don't need the letter. my wife recieved one for her 8100. it's just a coupon to get you aware that you are entitled to that promo. you don't really need it, since it is on their website, after all. if your phone is listed, and if you meet their disclaimer, then you are entitled to the credit.

I thought that the Sanyo 5300 was one of the phones they would buy back, but now it doesn't seem to be on the list. I could have sworn that it was on the list last time I checked. Does anyone know if they will buy back the Sanyo 5300 and how much they will pay? Thanks.

the 5300 is so old and outdated that they won't even be bothered to take it back for free, it'll cost them money just to have the cleaners empty those bricks at night.

should've done when you had the chance. see, good things doesn't always come to those who wait. at least now, you can donate it to programs that will refurbish the phone and give it to battered women who can call 911 in emergencies or the likes.

So this buy back thing, can you go into a store and sell the phone for credit and get the rebate as well? Or won't they let you do both? If can't do both, guessing this would be only good if you switch phones often.

Was just thinking ... if Sprint really, really wants our phones back, they should make it more attractive for us to sell back our phones. You know, take the average selling price on ebay for the past 30-days, add a $50 gratuity fee to it and that's our selling price back to them. We live in a capitalistic society, so the fair market value is what Sprint should be buying it back at, not at some sub basement price. You know that they are going to buy it back and then sell it to some poor sole as a refurb.

The criteria is it has to be on your account. So whatever store bought it back you should tell everyone...lol jk...

And as long as the screen is not smashed or bleeding, and there is no corrosion from water damage, sprint should buyback the phone. The screen is the most expensive part of the phone and the most valuable so sprint can reuse it for a repair. So if your phone is beat to death but the screen is good, and you dont have water damage, and the phone has been on your account and is still on the buyback list than you can buy it back.

I agree! Sprint's buyback program is a joke unless you got your phone for free! Say you bought a $300 phone and Sprint will only buy it back from you for only $50! You can get at least $150 or even $200 from selling it on a forum or ebay. It's pretty cool though that they have this option because Cingular doesn't even have it, they have this recycle program where you put your old phone in a box and don't even get ANY money back at all!

Sprint has it so they have parts to repair phones with. Most of the phones that are bought back are old and crappy, They are never 200 - 300 dollar phones. Some are made into recons but alot are used for their spare parts...ex. speakers that work good, or their earpiece that still works good that can be used to repair another customers phone. Also sprint has the donation box. But sprints buyback program is for when customer use the rebate program and upgrade in store they can get credit for their old beat up phone. Its not for when someone has a 7400, and just buys a Treo650 out right and wants sprint to buy back their 7400. No one does that. It actually is a good idea for customers when they upgrade in store.
