I would like to upgrade to a new phone most likely the Sanyo 7400 (I currently have the Sanyo 8100). What are the chances of CS giving me some sort of discount for this? I have had alot pf problems with Sprint lately and also wouldn't mind signing a 2 yr agreement. Also the cheapest I found this phone for is $259 at Costco - $50 for trade in so phone would end up costing me $200+. I dont want to spend that much. Anyone have any ideas???

Are you eligible for the 18 month, $150 Mail-In Rebate?

If not, you could call Sprint and see if they can change that, but I definately wouldn't count on that.

I talk to tele-sales last week and they said they would give me $150 rebate eventhough i dod NOT have a phone for 18 months and that i would NOT have to sign contract. I made sure he repeated this 3 times b4 i bouth the phone..and now I got the phone and the rebate form and it says u NEED a 2 year contract and 18months of service on one phone. I am so pist at sprint. .. as always.

Well think about it this way, why would sprint give you a phone without signing a new agreement? What are they getting for giving you a sweet deal on a phone?

Don't worry too much about signing a new agreement there are always ways out of those. As for customer care making you eligible for the handset upgrade program, be really nice to rep and say that you were told you would qualify last time you called and hopefully they'll be nice and place the code on, that's about your only option

i Think All of you should stop calling the cust Serv line and talking to India or wherever they are and start going to a Sprint store.. You will be treated so much better if you are very nice... i am a sprint store manager... and if u go and say that you would like to cancel service and you are out of agreement, i will most likely give u and instant rebate on a phone... BUT THERE IS NO WAY OUT OF GETTING A DEAL ON A PHONE WITHOUT A 2 YR AGREEMENT....

As a store manager you can give instant rebates? That is good to hear that you do that for the customer, I am a Supervisor in the business department and the only way I can give an "instant" rebate is if I allow it too be billed to the account and provide a 150 credit, but good news is that on the 14th of July they are rolling out instant rebates for the HUP

ONLY a bit over 4 million cust where chosen for that... the cust will have "24- HUP INSTANT"code, most of wich are out of conrtact and account s have been in good standing.. the way we give instant reabates at the store is by manager discretion... but we cant go beneath min net price on phones...

What a store manager can do is what is called a "manager discretion" and use his/her codes to mark down the phone the $150.

So is there a way to get a discount or no???

No there is no way to get a deal

I agree with the mail in because it prevents fraud and sprint would be giving away far too many "instant" rebates if it was up the an agent or store rep to just manually apply a code because all a customer would have to do is yell and scream at a rep for them to do it... Although I've had lots of Escalated calls where a customer has been banned from a sprint store for taking a swing a rep lol
