I've tried downloading some of the larger games and the largest I can download successfully has been 127kb. All of the larger ones tell me that my phone has insufficient memory, even though I've got over 500kb available. Does anyone know if there's a limit to the file size that this phone will accept?

I think some one posted on here a while ago that stated that it was like 2 mb total. 1 mb for one section and 1 mb dedicated for another section.

see, i know i already have sufficient space for the download. i'm wondering if anyone knows if there's a limit on the size of an individual file that you can download.

I am basing this response on the "Sprint PCS Vision Device Specifications" excel spreadsheet I downloaded from Sprint's Application Developer's website earlier this year:

Sanyo PM8200
Max dowloaded Ringer filesize: 128kb CMX, Midi, QCP
Max dowloaded Static Screen filesize: 128kb PNG, JPEG, BMP, WBMP
Max sound effects filesize: 128kb
Restrictions on jar size: 128kb

Do you see a pattern emerging here? The issue isn't the amount of available memory on your phone; the issue is the maximum supported file size within the implemented file system.

Hope it helps!

Mr. Billy Shaw, sir, that is exactly the info I was looking for. I figured that was the issue, but wanted to make sure before giving up on some of the larger downloads.

Thanks for the help
