Does anyone have an idea when and if Sprint is bringing over the I730. I have from good sources it is coming out on the 25th for business users with Verizon and on July 7th for regular consumers.
That would be the best phone around.... :fingers:

While it's always possible.........I don't think it's likely; I mean, VZW is the only one to have the i700......so, why won't it be the same with the i730?
if verizon's carrying it i highly doubt sprint would.

Word has it that Sprint already turned it down, perhaps even before Verizon accepted their version.
If that's true, I hope whoever made the decision was fired. The i730 will be the sweetest piece of candy Samsung has ever introduced to America.

<sigh> Nice comparison. My senior eyes prefer the larger display.

Man if Sprint turned it down are they planning on any Pocket PC phones in the near future? It does seem like Sprint likes to have only one Pocket PC phone for years like the G1000.
I am in serious lust over the imate Jam, wish something that small would come out for us. The only thing keeping me on Sprint is the promise of EVDO, but Verizon is surely calling to me with all their great phones.

Besides size, does the phone offer anything better then the 6600? What is the cpu speed on that thing. I dont mind the size of the 6600 as the large screen makes doing everything on it a joy and great for multi-media things also.

Sprint is going to announce 5 new EVDO phones to promote the launch of the EVDO network with one of the announced by the end of the week. I heard rumors that most of them are PPC phones.

Personally.....I love the 6600. I like the big screen. The only question is if they will allow our phone on the EVDO network. IMHO, the would the only major deciding factor for me. I am planning on upgrading again next spring. By then all the EVDO and WM05 questions will be resolved with a large selection of phones with both to choose from.

I love the phone also and would keep for a long time it they offer an ev-do update. But I would be really bummed if they offered another 6600 with ev-do and we were stuck without it. That would piss me off!

Sprint MUST carry this phone. EV-DO, Built-in WiFi, Bluetooth, 520mhz processor, etc. Nothing out there touches it feature-wise, and the form factor is great.
Someone over at SprintPCSInfo said they plan to carry it Q4 2005. Here's the thread:

Anyone else have any inside info on this phone's possible release for Sprint?

That same source also said the Samsung a940 won't reach Sprint until Q4 2005, with an implication that it could come even later. Hopefully they're wrong.

Awesome info man. Can you elaborate at all, or is that all the information we have so far? Usually we would have some kind of clue as to what PPC phones were coming, maybe a FCC report or a trade show. But the only CDMA PPC stuff which I have heard about are the i730 and the i645 (smartphone).

There's the i830 (Hybrid CDMA/GSM international phone version of the i730).......saw that on my journey through the FCC website.
