I see that after 18 months you can upgrade with a $150 discount on a new phone. Now I have only been a customer for 1 yr is it possible for me to get a discount on a new phone?

Nope, you have to wait a full 18 months. And actually, once the 18 months passes, you'll have to buy whichever phone you at the full price, and then they send you a $150 mail-in-rebate. Of course, you will have to renew your contract two more years.

That's what I've heard, but I've also heard that when they become instant, instead of 18 months for a new phone it'll be two years. I guess we'll see.

Just upgraded on 11 June at the Sprint store and received an instant rebate - which made my new 5600 much less painful to purchase!
