Here's my Samsung A800 review.

-->Reception Reception on the A800 is great. I've talked on this phone a lot and still haven't had a dropped call yet. Lately sprint phones have been really good in the reception department.

-->Call Quality Calls are very clear. On the A700 (my previous phone) I sometimes did have problems with noise cancelation. The phone would try to cancel out background noise if the background is louder than the person you're talking to. But it didn't really cancel out background noise well, instead It would distort the person's voice a little. I can hear everyone fine and dandy on the A800.

-->Battery Life I'm pleased with the battery life on the A800. Even with all the little features the battery lasts long. Certain things do hurt battery life on this phone though, If you leave the camera's auto focus on, battery life on the A800 goes away quicker than if you leave auto focus off. Auto focus helps makes good pictures look even better...

*Little tip to save some precious battery life: go to settings, display, backlight, and turn power Save mode on.

-->Pics/Video Gee wiz I love the pics...The Samsung A800 is America's first 2.0 megapiXel camera. The pictures come out remarkable- even in low light. The A800 has a Macro setting so you can get up close and personal with subjects. Macro is Awesome. There are so many small things to capture on this planet. Now you can see capture things up close clearly. Autofocus helps the pictures come out even better. When using Autofocus the camera focuses for 1/2 seconds and then takes the shot. Stay super still during those 1/2 seconds and you will be blessed with a great pic.

The videos on the phone come out fine. To me the video quality hasn't really dramatically improved from the Sanyo 5500 or Samsung A700. You can make full length movies on this phone. The only limit is your memory card size. It can take videos longer than 15/30 seconds, but you can't send them through video mail. Having the ability to take videos is nice little bonus to me.

--Menus Styles There are two types of menus styles. One is a 3x3 and the other is Rotation Style menus. The 3x3 has some nice effects...water drop, Ripple water (very cool), warp, flowers, stars, fire. Some effects make navigation a little slower on the menus. But they look gorgeous. I like the Rotation style much better. It's fast, clever, and simple...and it looks nice.

-->PCS Vision/SMS text Messaging I freaking love the mobile web. I use it all the time. It comes in handy when i'm in the bathroom, waiting on lines, and especially at my job. It cures boredom. PCS Vision on the A800 is very quick. I love the speed, i hardly get any error while browsing. I think It is still not as fast as the toshiba vm4050, but it's close. The resolution of the screen (QVGA) makes viewing everything via the web a delight. The web is not only quick, it's more animated than other sprint phones i've used. I can actually see smileys move on the phone. :headbang2

SMS: T9...sadly is not on the A800. Ezitap is good, but isn't as fast as T9. Still you can get use to it. Ezitap has a great memory. Everything you type on the phone is remembered. Whether it is just a phonebook name or something you typed on the web. It will remember it. Another thing I do like about Ezitap is that if you speak spanish and english a lot you can set the text input settings to Dual language. Meaning you can type out spanish words and it will appear (along with english words) in the list that pops up. You do not need change the whole phone's text to spanish to type in spanish. It makes typing coņo easier.

P.S. You can manually add words to the Ezitap dictionary too.

Voicemode during text messages enables you to use your voice to dictate words and punctuation into a text message. You don't need your thumbs to text with this. I don't use this much. but It's nice to have new advanced technology on a phone.

-->Extras Lots of goodies on the A800... Voicemode(see above) Biz Card Scan: with this you can take a close up picture of a business card and the phone extracts the only the text on the card. It's a pretty cool feature. Sometimes it will have trouble reading a card if the font is weird.

You can set vibrate on any sound level. You can set vibrate to just text message if you'd like. You can set different volumes for everything on this phone. I made my text message volume louder than my calls volume.

The A800 comes with A USB Data Cable, 32MB TransFLASH memory card, And a SD card adapter. I recommend getting a card reader (they cost as little as $10 dollars- check amazon) so you can easily put long videos and lots of other things from your computer on to the memory card. The TransFLASH card is soooo small! smaller than a dime. (see pic below-yes that's my pinky)

I didn't pay $500+ dollars for the phone, I had a friend hook me up with a special price. I'm happy with the phone. I didn't really want speakerphone. (although, I miss it sometimes) I wanted a nice looking phone and I'm a camera junkie so I wanted a nice camera- with macro...Now all I need is a case!

_-And that's my Samsung A800 review. Thanks for reading. Adios-_ :wavey:
