I was planning to cancel my plan last night and I ended up with Retention who gave me a plan and phone options that I was happy with. However, now I'm a little bit scared that he was leading me on.
I was able to get one phone for free shipped from Sprint. Then he told me that if I waited until June 27 that I'd be able to get a second phone with a 150$ instant rebate. He stated that prior to that time the rebate is a mail in rebate. I talked to the standard CSR about another question today and mentioned this issue. She stated that she had never heard of it.
Has anyone heard of a new promotion or deal that starts June 27th and gives an instant 150$ rebate?

I talked to Retention yesterday and was told the roll out for instant rebates for upgrades would be July. Some people in other posts have said June 23. Sounds like it is an official "product" but it won't be here for a bit.

I've heard of the $100 1 year instant rebate and $150 2 year instant rebate... or something like not, but not of a 18 month $150 instant rebate.... if I'm wrong then please correct me on that (its just what I remember from another thread about the same topic.)

That would be great if all the rebates were going to be instant beginning June 27th. :)

The 18 month $150 rebate is for customers who want to upgrade their phone they will give you a $150 credit towards the purchase of a new phone, the same way they give you a $100 or $150 credit when you first set up your account. Some stores, if their in a good mood, will give you an instant rebate, others make you pay the price of the phone and then they will send you $150 back. Supposedly it is in July that it will be instant rebates all around the board
I just got back from a Sprint store today (NJ) and the rep I spoke to said the instant rebates are supposed to start here in late July.
Also, he said that I could get an instant rebate if I bought the phone and two accessories. Has anyone here heard of that little promotion? It's some code attached to my account.

Ummmm....no. Verizon offers instant rebates for upgrading customers as well. I think other carriers do also.

I can guarentee you that verizon does not offer instant rebates to exisiting customer, no provider does hence why sprint has taken so long to provide them as instant, go look for some verizon boards and see how much they complain. They are a lot worse of a carrier than sprint

When i talked with a rep about a week or so ago they said i would be able to use my $150 rebate as an instant rebate starting on my next billing cycle (which happened to be the 17th of this Month). However, i was sent to retention to add a 7pm nights for free due to some timezone problems and getting screwed out of the normal nights. They said the codes for the instant rebate were not valid yet and changed them to mail in codes (bastards :P). With a little pushing and the lady saying about 25 times "Reps have been told not to say anything about these yet..." she finally said that "sometime soon" the rebates are going to be offered as an instant option, but that it will require a 24 month wait (rather then the 18), and you still need to sign a two year contract again to use it.

Yea. Thats right. The instant rebate for $150 requires 24 months with same phone on the account (unless replaced with reconditioned/refurbished).. and with any rebate it requires renewal of 2 yr agreement plus vision package if you get a vision phone. I think its 12 months for a 75$ instant rebate 2yr renewal and vision of course... I think its still 18months gets you the mail in for 150$...and reps can't talk about it. There will be more information about it possibly in July... but the codes are already showing up on accounts.. No one knows for sure when it will go into effect.Oh yea.. and your BASE plan (min only basically/not including attachables ex: 7pm, vision, pcs to pcs) needs to be 35$ or higher.....

...you really should stick with Sprint information...instant rebates are necessary because of how Sprint sells phones. Verizon pays the first $200 for eligible upgrade customers (2 months before end-of-contract), but customer pays tax on full price of phone. The only rebates are additional manufacturer rebates.
I have sold Verizon almost four years, I know whereof I speak...

If you have had your phone for 24months... you will have a code on your account "24- INSTANT HUP" and you will be eligible for instant reabate on the spot starting July 7th! If u have had your phone 12-23 Months you will have a code "12-23 INSNTANT HUP" wich will make u eligible for $75.00 instant rebate.. but if ur one of those cust that have been waiting and are on ur 18th month u can do an additional $75.00 mail in rebate for a total of $150 in reabates... exept the cust is better of since the only have to send in for 75$ instead of the full 150$... But this will only be on select phones that u can do the 75$ mail in option
Wow.. waiting 2 years to upgrade your phone. Thats like an eternity. :Popcorn2:

What if you are not on a plan $35 or more base? Would you be able to up your plan to over $35 and then get the rebates, or can't that be done at the same time. From the wording it seems like you should be able to..but we all know the way things look are not always the way they are.

You should up the plan first to CYA, but users here have reported that upping later works...after calling and dealing with Sprint CS...just make it easy on yourself, OK? :deal:

Alltel gives it's existing customers $200 instant rebate when said customer is within 90 days of the end of their contract as long as the customer signs a 1 year contract.

nvm :)
I tried this today and apprently I dont have the flag yet I have been out of contract for a month now however my brother could have got one like a month after he did the mail in so my question is is it 24 months from when the latest phone was activated because I had problems with vison about 6 months into my contract and the sprint store had to get me like 3 diffrent phones before they found out it was a network issue with vison on my account but the last phone they added was a diffrent phone because they had no more 4900s left
So what is the determining factor and should I go back in and try again in october which is when my current phone was activated
