I posted in a thread before claiming that pm8200's were replacements for a620's and thats what I was seeing, but my girlfriend's a620 broke a couple days ago, so she filed for a replacement with lockline. She received her replacement today, which was a blue sanyo 5500. I hope they destroyed every last a620.
Thats a nice upgrade from an A620. 5500 is still a hot phone to this day no doubt!

***...how can they justify replacing an a620 with a 5500, good luck btw. i thought the 8200 was the replacement for the a620 or other pm phones, strange

Yeah i was really suprised that she got the 5500 for a replacement and it had a good battery instead of those poorly painted ones. I hate those little buddy things that pop up though.

U can disable the little buddy. Go Menu > Settings > Display > My Buddy > and disable it.

I posted sometime ago about a replacement for my Sanyo 8200. I have been dealing with this for quit sometime now. Lockline would request another 8200 and then goes on back order. Over and over and over. Finally, they sent me a Samsung A680 which when I tried to charge it, it would charge for 2-3 seconds and then say battery not connected, power off. They ordered another 8200, back order, again, 8200 back order. Finally a manager requested and approved a Sanyo mm-7400. After that, I received the blue 8200 but with no attena. Called Lockline back and they said the last phone that was ordered is Sanyo MM-7400 which should be here on Friday.
That manager said that Lockline has switched to a new system and it is not working at all for anyone. He said for me to contact Lockline Managment through www.lockline.com which we will be after I receive the 7400 and find out what condition it is in.

so what did you do with the blue 8200 with no antenna? free phone? 7400 is a big step from the 8200, good luck with it.

I still have the 8200. They told me that I can put this phone on my account and use it until a decent phone has arrived at my home. But I refuse to. When I do receive a decent phone, I will then ship this one back. I pay lockline $5.00 a month. They want their money and then they want $50.00 right then and there. I have complied with them since the first of May. And this is now June 10th, 2005. The last manager has said that Lockline has failed to hold up their end.

uh...so since your girlfriend didn't get another A620 for her replacement, you tout that they are *out* of them alltogether?
I think not.

I know the stores definitely aren't out of them. When mine messed up, they opened up a cabinet and BOOM a620s abound!

It was more like an assumption...I'd say that a majority of a620 replacements will be 8200s or something else rather than an a620 because a lot of people I know have been getting something else instead of an a620...I guess it also depends on where you are if they have different distribution centers

Finally, as of June 10th I have received my lock line replacement again and it does work perfect. One thing that shocked me was they did send the Sanyo MM-7400 brand new in box. Not reconditioned. I went through ##786# and it say reconditioned: No. I did have the Sanyo 8200 that I loved really well. The camera was/is great. But the camera on the 7400 is not as well. If I may ask one question on the 7400? On the camera setting, what is night mode? I did use the camera a night with the flash on and night setting turned on but the pictures are still dark. The book does not explain what night setting is. Thank you!
night mode should just brightin up the picture.

I received a brand new a700 as a replacement for my 4050, but that phone sucked and didn't have a speakerphone(even though the 4050's speaker is crap, but i still use it) so they sent me a 5600 and that was brand new too

Sorry to stay off-topic, but:
I had my clients who had taken my recommedation to go with sprint, but mistakenly bought a620's, go back and exchange them after they started acting up in the first two weeks! They are happy with their Sanyos now, but it was a close call, and it made me, my advice, and Sprint look bad. The local store I deal with constantly will exchange them for my clients on the spot without testing them, it got so bad for them with a620s!

I liked my a620, except for a few issues. I just had a personal preference for the Sanyo 8100, mainly the better web browser. The a620 is one of the best things that ever happened for the Sprint/Samsung relationship, however. Very successful phone.

I orginally bought a 8100, decided i wanted the "better camera" and exchanged it for the 620, well, i kept that phone and it started getting the bugs, i went back, and they wanted to order me a new one, to make a long story short, when are planning on a cross country trip in a day or 2, you dont have time to wait. They ended up giving me a 8200 in exchange, and its the best phone I have had. Unfortunally, Im no longer with sprint due to there billing errors costing me money (double bill your debit card and not refund it and cause checks to bounce).
