i am currently on a secondary line in a sprint package with my parents. we share 2000 minutes a month and unlimitted off peak and pcs to pcs minutes. i recently got a new phone and am interested in vision and text messaging. i have heard people talk about $5 vision i think, but how would i go about getting that? i am either interested in both vision and texting or just the texting. what is the cheapest i can get these things for?

You can get vision for $5, which includes picture mail. For unlimited SMS, it's another $5, so that's a total of $10/mo. (boy, I wish Sprint threw this in for free!!!)

...the way I understand it, the Vision is back to FREE on 2000 minutes and above...at least it popped up on the Family plan I activated yesterday...I had to select it, but they got it for free...

You get 100 text messages with that...unlimited is five more...

i don't know if it matters but i wasn't specific in explaining that nobody in our family has vision right now. so does that still mean that i could get vision free? my parents would never use any of the features so they wouldn't need it but would take it for free. im gonna have my dad call up sprint and ask about the service. also what is the best way to ask so that they give it to you? sorta a weird question but i've heard that sometimes they seem to give people better deals than others.

the free vision for the 2000min was for last summer, that hasnt been reenacted as of yet(as far as i know); and that was for the primary line. officially, the primary line has to have vision on it first ($15) for the secondary lines get it for $5. but the billing system allows you to add vision on the secondary lines without the primary line having vision, so you just have to get hold of a CS that knows what they are doing. And the pricing quoted by the others here are correct. hope that helps

in order to try to get vision should i dial the *2 number?
also im a little confused. is it correct that if i don't buy vision i can still download things online but i have to pay by the size of the download? also does that mean i can see websites for free as long as i don't download anything? also the vision you guys are talking about is unlimitted correct (i know that i would still have to pay for sprint ringtones and such)?

No, when you go to websites, you're downloading their wml and images...they dont just mean for "downloads," when you're on the internet on your phone without a vision plan, you're charged for every kilobyte you transfer over the network, including any data 'overhead.' Adds up FAST. Reps are supposed to tell you this and note in the account if you decline vision. This way if you call in with a $300 balance, you can be refused credit for it because you knew better

for only the secondary line to have vision do you have to pay the full $15 or do they sometimes give it to you for $5?
for example on sprint's site is says that it costs $20 a month to add a line and $25 to add a line with vision. does that mean that the primary line would have to have vision in order to add a new line with vision for just $25 a month?

like i said, sometimes they will give it to you without the primary having to have vision. and its $20 for the add-a-line alone, then you add the vision for $5 more, making it $25. that pricing is not including the vision for the primary line if you get it.
