I was just curious if anyone still has grandfathered videomail.... because I had it for over a year, and lost it a few months ago... just curious if anyone is so lucky to stil have it.
if you do, please post what kind of vision package you have, and when you added it to your account.
Thanks,
Steve

oh yeah...i have had vision since Day 1. hence, i pay 10 bucks and get:
1. unlimited vision
2. unlimited sms
3. unlimited picture mail
4. unlimited video mail
since i am a wireless web addict, i think my run will be over when the ev-do phones come out, and i'll have to sign up with 'vision 3.0', or whatever they call it. but then two years down the road i'll be getting all those extra goodies at the startup cost, so it will work out in the end.
always pays get to get onboard early.

I had free videomail until March... when I got my second "you must agree to a $5 charge to use videomail"
normally I would just click okay and never be charged... but this time they got me... they got me good..

Well I figured out how to copy the videos off of the phone via usb cable, then email them to my pm.sprint account, works the same, except I have to be a bit more careful how many videos I take, because I cannot just upload at any time.

technically...you cant be grandfathered into a service that never existed

yeah, somehow it didn't exist... yet we had it for over a year
the CS reps were so damned confused by it.... they kept saying that I added VM march '05... and I told them that I've had it over a year... they said it's impossible... then I had one log into my picture account and look at my first video uploaded... he was like, "what the heck is going on here?"
anyways, it came down to the fact I just got a year of free vm... lame

everyone did for awhile. it took a little bit for me to notice that it wasnt just a fluke for one guy. that was a pretty common call for people to be uploading videos and not paying for it then get the message and they are griping me out. also had some with the same thing for picturemail. i think its being worked out now, seem to be getting more reports of people now paying for videomail.

What I don't understand, is what is the REASONING behind making us pay more for videomail?
I mean, it's obvious they just want to make more money, but the cost is the same as picturemail... someone could have both PM and VM and use less bandwidth than someone who just has PM!
I kinda wonder how THEY justify it as a company overall... because I've even had a CSR tell me, "Hey, it's all about the money." I think that was the first honest rep I've ever talked to... it was vision tech though, sometimes I think they are more free-willed, and they spekken de english more betterly.

I just started getting charged for PM after having it for a year.. When I get the 8300 will I have 2 months of video mail free? I doubt I'll need to keep it but I would like to try it. I want to try Sprint TV also. I pay 10 bucks for unlimited vision and SMS and now I got my 1st charge for PM this month. I know there gonna try and get me to switch to some other vision pak when I get a MM phone. Rose

rose... you may want to look into using the USB cable to snatch your pictures/videos off of the phone... I can do it fine with my 5500... especially the pictures, as they have the exact time and date the picture was taken.... something you lose when you actually use sprint's picturemail system.

Really!!! I have an extra usb cable... How does it work? Do I need software also? I don't mind having to pay for PM and I can upload them right to Sprints site. If I don't pay for VM I just have to take them off the phone and put it on my computer not upload it to Sprints site correct? I wonder how much memory the 8300 will have? Rose

Well my phone holds about 20 videos... and I use bitpim to get them off... just "get phone data" and select wallpapers... easy as pie.
then you email them to your pm.sprint account.
