What do you PDA Phone folks think. Is it better to get a PDA phone or a stand alone PDA like a T5 and then a nice phone.

Well....in getting them seperate.........you'll have more flexibility; you get to chose from a myriad of PDA's.

Now....if you're planning to do Internet with the PDA via a Bluetooth phone (and with Sprint)...it may be slow. Then again......EV-DO Bluetooth phones will be coming out, and will possibly fix that.

Still.....there's nothing wrong with a Treo.

So, what are you planning to do with either of the combinations?

It's the kid can't make up his mind and he keeps buying Treo 650 then he buys phones and PDA's separately. Just wanted to see what the people who had them thought. There is just too many electronics out there for kids today and they can't make up their mind.

:hee: I know what you mean.

I told my parents that I want to get the Samsung A940 when it comes out ($500 or so phone).....strangely, they didn't yell and say no! I figure that it has just about the right features to justify its price. (And I returned my Sony PSP...so that should help)

Anyways.........Treo 650 = All-in-one messaging machine (and much more, of course). Or.....seperate devices (possibly connectable, for 'net) and you could leave one or the other at home......or, upgrade one thing without doing both (if you know what I mean).

I use a PDA-phone because that way I have the PDA with me more often, which makes it more useful.

I've had both and I've got a Treo, I prefer the Treo because it's less stuff for me to carry. I carry a Treo, an LG 325 (Cause it's the smallest bt phone), and a pager.. Last thing I need is to carry two phones and a PDA and a pager.. I'd look like RAMBO or something. Now people just see the pager and Treo (the LG sits in the pocket).

I've had them seperate and had only one problem that would almost push me to getting a pda phone: wireless internet. sure i could go into a starbucks or borders and get the internet, but here in oklahoma, thats about it. no other places have wifi, and those places are sparce. so in that case i think the pda phone would definitely have an advantage, especially with email.

I have wifi at home and on campus, so it's not a deal breaker for me
