View Full Version : LG VI 125 SMS/Caller ID Phone Book Match

Has anybody had this problem with the LG VI125 with Sprint:

Text Messages (SMS) come with a from format of 1-NNN-NNN-NNNN, however my phone calls come in with a caller ID of NNN-NNN-NNNN. If I put a number in my phone book with the 1, text messages will get the correct look-up match from the phone book, however a phone call will show the phone number instead of the name. If I remove the 1, the reverse happens.

This seems like a bug in the programming for the phone book match. Has anyone had this problem or found a way to correct it?

I see that you're new around here :)

It's not just your phone......that problem happens to messages coming from other carrier's phones (Non-Sprint PCS). Here's a fairly huge thread about this issue: http://www.sprintusers.com/forum/showthread.php?t=61612

Thanks for the info 'Matt. I am new. I used to have the Sayno 8100 from sprint. The SMS on that phone drove me nuts because it was in the mini-browser, and it would literally about a minute to load, which is real annoying when you're dealing with friends that are sending you messages, and it takes them seconds. I didn't have this problem there, because the SMS phonebook was completely seperate from the normal phone book (also very annoying).

So, this just started happening one day? As in the way the numbers came in on CallerID just changed all of the sudden? Wierd. I have to say, I'm starting to lose faith in Sprint.
