Hey everyone, new Sprint customer and new board member here. First, I apologize if I have posted in the wrong forum. I am a vet to boards online but not sure how things run on this site yet. I looked through the FAQ section but didn't find anything regarding my problem.

I have a LG PM-325. I have searched on eBay but haven't found much that can help me (up to this point). I had two free months of PCS Vision for my phone but the trial is running out soon and I will have to cancel (as I can't pay the $15 per month extra for the service).

My question is...is there any way to use a data cable (which cable, what brand, what software is needed) to transfer custom ringers I make from my PC straight to my phone (via data cable)? I usually use a ringers site to d/l my ringers right to my phone but since Vision will be up soon I don't know what to do.

A few more questions...If I pay for text message service only, can I d/l ringers that way? Also, I saw that Sprint offers Picture Mail service for like $5 a month. And in the fine print it says for any d/l's other than Picture Mail it's 0.01 cent per kb. Can I d/l ringers by typing in a URL just with the Picture Mail service?

The $15 on top of my monthly service plan is just too much and I only use Vision to d/l ringers on my phone. The $10 d/l's credit they give me each month is useless to me.

Any help will be appreciated. I'll check in often so feel free to reply with as much or little info as you would like as I will be here to give feedback from your help. Thanks again.

A cable may be the best option for you; go ahead and look at: www.3gcables.com

It will be 1 cent/perKB without a Vision plan for any web usage (including downloads).

I'll definitely check out that site.

The average ringtone I put on my phone is like around 68kb. So if I didn't have Vision, I could still get online to d/l the ringtone right? I'd assume everytime I d/l one I'd be paying about a $1.00 (depending on how big the file is)? Sprint doesn't screw around with overcharging do they? Cause I'll never go online aside from getting my ringtones. Just planning stuff out incase I can't find a data cable that'll transfer my ringtones for me.

Also, any info I need for those that have had to cancel Vision before? I'm not sure if the Sprint worker will throw me a few curveballs or not when I call up and cancel the Vision service.

or you can just record ringtones through your voice memo. i always did that when i had had a lg325.

True, I'll try this out. I still will probably go the 0.01 cent per kb route for most of my ringtones as I like to have multiple ones stored on my phone for several different ringtone options. ...If only I could delete the default ringtones so I can make more space in the memory.

I'm still trying to get some picture phone pics I took on the phone off of it so I can get more memory room. I figure I need a data cable for this though since I don't have Picture Mail in my Vision plan.

I'm not sure. Never had a A740. Read the manual and see if it has that feature.

I was wondering if anyone on here has ever up'd ringtones onto their phone before that didn't have Vision on their plan at the time? I'm looking for an estimate as to how much it'll cost to up a single ringtone (so I can estimate on how many I should do per month). It shouldn't be that much more than the kb size of the ringtone itself, correct?

right, but its how ever much per kb that you pay.
