Greeting's all. I was just wondering how long has everyone been playing video games? I myself he been playing them for almost 24 years. I know, I know...call me a freak if you wish! I just find them so enjoyable. :headbang2

been playing since the nintendo came out... i wasn't a nerd, and i didn't have every single system, but i'd like to consider myself a hardcore gamer. that was then though. now i don't have the time or money to do that, plus i've lost interest. i'll play halo 2, and sports games like nba2kx and fight night round 2 occasionally on my bro's/friends' systems. other than those, the only games i get to play are the ones on this site.

bah come on, don't tell me you didn't have a technique/sequence to get it to work everytime, everyone had one.
mine was: wave it back and forth in the air with my hand, blow into the cartridge, blow into the system, insert cartridge, push it down, blow into system again, nudge the cartridge to the right as much as possible, leave the lid open, and voila... works every time.

I've been playing since NES and I've owned
NES
Sega Genesis
Super NES
Sega Game Gear (Sega's answer to the game boy, failure)
Sega 32x (the system that you put on top of the Sega Genesis, lame, few games released)
Virtual NES (very lame, only like 5 games released)
Nintendo 64
Playstation (twisted metal 2, oohh ya)
Sega Dreamcast (not as bad as everyone says, there were some gems)
Microsoft X-Box
Playstation 2
So pretty much every system minus Sega CD and any others that are so lame not even I would buy it. Also I havn't owned many hand helds either.
BTW there are a couple of NES emulators that work on the Treo 650, I have quite a few games on it including Battletoads and DD, Bomberman 2, Bubble Bobble Contra, all Marios, RBI baseball 2, Punch Out, Tecmo Super Bowl, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 1 and 2, Zelda, and about 15 others. Its fun playing games on my phone that I used to play when I was 5 or so.

I don't know why I said in my other post that I started with the NES. I had the Atari 2600 (or whatever the number is) and played the hell outta games like breakout and tank and shhhtuff. Oh to hear those nostalgic bleeps and bloops and see those flashing yellows and pinks again... not to mention those sweet ass knob thingy controllers. ATARI was facking awesome, I need to raid some thrift stores.
I also date back to the days of Atari! Games like the centipede game, frogger, etc were some of my favorite.

I've been playing video games since I was 4 years old and I"m turning 21 in two months so about 17 years. My first system was my sister's atari then I got an NES when it first came out and the first game I ever beat was Mike Tyson's Punch-Out.Hardcore Gaming Rocks! :headbang2

I got an Atari 2600 when they first came out, then oon after got a Vic20. I'd say almost my entire life, but really exploded when Spy Hunter came out.
Now, I'm a Pinball freak. :)
(But I do love pulling out my Atari2600 and NES emulators. I loved Adventure, PitFall, and RiverRaid on the Atari and RBI Baseball plus all the FRPGs on NES. :)

Been 30+ years here... I remember the first "arcade" I went to was at the Rehobeth Beach DE in the mid 70's. A lot of pinball and rows of "pong". I remember telling kids at school about playing real games on a TV - they weren't real impressed - 'til games started showing up in our town.
From there it was the 2600. I can remember playing with my dad and discussing how cool it would be if one day we could play the same game on seperate TV's.
