Tuolumne, dude, seriously, you should get a job as PR for Samsung. Probably pays real good and you could use your posts as a portfolio to show them that you are qualified. I'm not gonna run out and buy a Samsung, but you sure do bring all the Samsung info to the table. I wish we had a Sanyo person who brought all that same kind of info to the table too. Any volunteers?

once again samsung misses me with that keypad. and the front of the phone is horrendous. but other than that it looks (feature wise) to be a potential winner.

Why is this even posted here if it's not going to Sprint? Take this stuff to hofo.

Aside from that, this looks much better than the LG VX-8100, particularly the opened view. Samsung seems to be the only manufacturer that's making moves which I'd be emulating had I been in charge of a company's mobile division. It's as if Samsung is the only mobile manufacturer actually headed by techies and not suits with techie advisors. I'm slightly impressed.
Also strange that for once they're giving more attention to US CDMA carriers as opposed to GSM.

Nice phone. I'm still waiting on the A940 Though. Just wish it had PTT and QVGA. Sanyo, what are you waiting for!?

Nice phone. I wish they would hurry and make a phone with all the features of the 5600, w/bluetooth, and a better camera. Sanyo should make a 5650 with those features. Did I just troll? Sorry, I still want to get it out....Tu does it, why can't I :)I agree, with all of it. Even if you did edit like a straight punk.

Before everyone comments on how ugly the finish is (its horrible) remember this was a pre-production model sent to the FCC for approval. They want the internals approved. The shell is just a quick mock-up of what the final form will be. It is not finished and will be extensively refined before (if ever) released.

Wow, me personally I think that phone is hot. I know samsung doesnt follow the traditional number ordering so is this phone supposed to be better then the A880, or closer to the A940?

It's a good year for them, last year they were lagging. Sanyo was all over them, so was Motorola.

If Sprint offered a phone with this feature set, I'd but it even without a discount. I have had an LG for about 7 months, and I'll never be unfaithful to Samsung again. This phone I have SUCKS!!!

heh, as always, Obex wasn't enabled. So another broken bluetooth.
I'm sure that Sprint would offer a version of this if they could show enough interest in it. But without OBEX the bluetooth is still halfway useless to me.

so since this is the SCH-A950 and the verizon version of the MM-A940 is the SCH-A970...if this phone ever came to sprint it would be inbetween the A940 and the A920 theoretically right?
so maybe the MM-A930? haha

You were saying that if THIS phone (A950) were to come to Sprint......it would be inbetween the A920 and A940. But.....the A920 is the Sprint equivalent of VZW's A950. :)

Well... Maybe this is going to look up for the A920/A940 ... If its already coming out on Verizon that is -- I think we're waiting on the EV-DO network launch on Sprint.
On a side note... The SCH-A950 internal photos were released on 5/23/05 ... SPH-A920 released on 8/15...
Now... There isn't a correlation with the date of release of the photos and the actual release date of the phone, is there?
On a side note, the SPH-A840's photos were released 6/30 ... and the phone was released when? ~8/30? Two months?
Any thoughts?

Torture! Torture I tell you!
This is turning from an end-of-summer gift-for-myself excuse to a halloween gift excuse... to a thanksgiving gift excuse...
Soon I'll just have to make it an Early Christmas Present!!! :hee:
Maybe, if Sprint is quick enough, it'll be a new-year present - ;)
