Oh, not this again. Can we PLEASE find something ELSE to say besides " Deeeeeeeeeetroit Baaaaaaaaasketball!!"

Ball handling was sloppy tonight. Not to mention the lack of control we had. If it wasn't for free throws, I don't think we would have made it.

But... Go Pistons!

Yo detriot fan..You cant feel to good about your team when the depleted and injury ridden Pacers gave u all you wanted. Can you imagine what would've happened in the series if we had a HEALTHY J.O., Jamal Tinsley, Austin Croshere, and not too mention about 3 bench players (who werent healthy enough to even see the floor) that are a critcial cog in our "lock you down and grind it out" machine. Even if we had Ron Artest's torso on the floor, we are at least goin back to Detroit. You may have moved on from this series but thats as far as your goin.

Ok Buddy, whatever you say  Keep telling yourself that. Detroit totally OWNED Indiana in 3 out of the 4 wins. U'all got lucky to get past Boston in the first place and you did more than what was expected against Detroit. Your squad fell to the superior team and thats the fact. :deal:

Wade was amazing in tonights game. Seeing as though he was 3 points away from having half of the Heat's total points, thats sayin something.

However, I'm pissed that the Pistons didn't take that game. So damn close.

Lastly, I gotta say that the officiating was probably the worst I've seen in Pro Ball in a LONG time. Heat was lucky to have the officials getting their back. Anyone that denies it is either a liar or completely blind.

UH-HUH so Detroit puts the series tied at 2-2, they lose at Miami. Just a theory they lose the series, just a theory I say. I have to ask are we all atchign the same game. The officials were calling on both teams and when they called on the heat, I had to scratch my head and wonder why and for what? Same goes along with the Pistons but I could care less as I was going for the heat. but this was a blow out and the heat picked the game up even while wade was out. I was lilttle scared when the Pistons went on a 12-2 run but the heat stuck in there and kept the lead GO HEAT!!! Like isaid, this is the heats year to bring in a championship to miami since as a state, Tampa Bucs have dont it, Florida Marlins have won it, twice so heat, its your turn.

Go MIAMI!!! The BETTER team won tonight plain and simple. Cry me a river about the officaiting. Do honestlly think even if the Pistions got all the calls they would have won tonight? I don't think so... I think Miami's fg % was around 56 and the Pistons was 35. Butler was huge for the Heat. People thought Shaq would be tired on 1 day rest but he had a hop in his step tonight. Wallace stunk and Hamilton was off tonight.

I agree that the Piston's didn't get the job done and the loss cant be blamed completely on the officiating, HOWEVER...it's impossible to get any kind of rhythm going when the refs blow their whistles on BS calls every minute. IMPOSSIBLE! Not sure if anyone saw the press conference after the game but Rasheed had some words to say in the locker room that will likely get him some fines. It's funny though, all he did was SPEAK THE TRUTH!! :irked: I urge you all to watch sports center and listen for his words of truth!

I have to say sa I am sadden that my home town team has lost, I have to say they gave it their all. Especially when before the half time buzzer rang, we all heard the shot that rang across the world. Man was that awesome. I saw next year if the squad stays the same, with some new add ons that will help, heat will be a team not to mess with. All I have to say now is the heats have made it just that easy for the spurs to finish the job. I was worried about the heat winning game 7 and then not having enough rest for the spurs but now the Pistons have to deal with it.

Detriot fans need to pray that Tim Duncan slices his finger while cutting tomatoes and Manu Ginobli stubs his toe getting up to pee late at night. It appears that the only way the Pistons are winning these playoff series are due to injuries to the opposing teams key players. You can say whatever you want in this thread, but when you lay in bed at night you'll know that you have to deal with a 100% healthy (knock on wood) Spurs team and they will clean the Palace floor with Ben Wallace's lettuce and will make Theresa Weatherspoon..I mean Rip Hamilton, wish his mask wasnt transparent, due to the embarrasement and shame he will feel getting locked up (like my unborn teenage daughter) by the stifling D of the team from Texas. (hint..you beer tossing, bomb threat calling, tools from the D..thats the San Antonio Spurs)

Sure this post is grammtically incorrect with the massive run-on sentence and what not, however the validity of the before mentioned statements will ring more loud and clear than the most gangsta PA announcer in the NBA.

Have a tremendous day and enjoy the series because after the finals..sports are gonna suck for awhile

I never gave it thought but the Pistons have been struggling against teams with injuries on the squad. So going against a team with a full healthy roster is going to be a challenge for them.

Shaq is the single most overated player in the league, he is a one dimensional player, Has one move and one fade away shot, oh am sorry he can dunk, any 7 foot fool can do that.

He's run with the Lakers is not a good measurement of how good shaq is as he had a host of talent surrounding him. If the refs would start calling those offensive fouls on him like they should, he would be up in the booth with barkley.

I am sooo happy he lost again, he proved again he can't step up in a big game because he has nothing to step up with.

I just hope the officiating isn't as bad in the finals.... Detriot in 7

They didn't even go to him down the stretch in Game 7. Plus Dwayne Wade being hurt meant the only other person the Pistons needed to worry about was Shaq.

And the "host of talent" surrounding him in LA wouldn't have won anything if Shaq wasn't there!!! Shaq makes people around him appear better than they really are; ie Damon Jones

Stop being a Shaq hater, he wasn't even healthy this playoff run and still dominanted Detroit's front line! It's not his fault they didn't win.

AHAHHAAHAHAHAA!! All the Heat fans are cracking me up right now. Face it. Miami Heat are the Losers and the Detroit Pistons are the Winners. It's the dead honest truth and you have to deal with it. Make whatever excuses you want for why your squad lost but in the end, thats exactly what happened and exactly what will be/is written in the books. If the Heat were a better team, "they would have found a way to win" (which is what someone else said in this thread when I was complaining about the undeniable anti-Detroit officiating of the series...well guess what...Detroit found their way :p ) We get the Eastern Conference Champions banner though we're looking to upgrade to the 2005 World Champions banner.

Here's my words:

I agree that the Piston's didn't get the job done and the loss cant be blamed completely on the officiating, HOWEVER...it's impossible to get any kind of rhythm going when the refs blow their whistles on BS calls every minute. IMPOSSIBLE! Not sure if anyone saw the press conference after the game but Rasheed had some words to say in the locker room that will likely get him some fines. It's funny though, all he did was SPEAK THE TRUTH!! :irked: I urge you all to watch sports center and listen for his words of truth!

BTW, he has GuaranSHEED Game 6 for the Pistons. He's 2-0 so far.

Pistions fans can cry about the refs why can't Heat fans cry about Wade and Shaq not being 100% healthy because we all know for sure they weren't. I'm not saying the Heat would've won had Shaq and Wade been healthy but I think it would've helped. Hamilton was asked about Wade not playing in game 7 and he said "sometimes you just have to be lucky to win a championship". Pistons fans probally won't admit that they were lucky beating the Heat but we all know that they were. Don't get me wrong the Pistons are good but there not invinseable. I think Ginobli is the difference maker and the Spurs will win another championship. :) Piston fans enjoy it when you can because after this year it will be awhile.

Shaq is still a aswome player. Yes he does throw his body/elbows but so did the mail man. lol He gets double teamed and that allows other players to get wide open looks. He's still the man but soon Stodamier will be.

Oh it had nothing to do with the 3-6 free throws or the 5 turnovers or the 12- 19 shooting, that's not gonna get it done, one dimensional I tell you, he needs to learn how to throw free throws, all he knows is dunk.

If he was hurt he should of placed himself on the bench, along with Wade, these guys wanna play when there hurt and then blame the loss on injuries, give me a break, take responsibilty for lossing.

Shaq's prime was short lived, he will never see a championship again.

I can sense a Shaq hater for some reason?.. Didn't Shaq sit out a bunch of games before/during the playoffs. His rythem and conditioning wasn't that good. Not sure if you have ever had a deep thigh bruise but I have and it's painfull. I don't think 12 for 19 is all that bad shooting. I don't recall any Heat player blaming the loss on injuries. It's the playoffs and there going to play injured because they have no one else. All I'm saying is it would've been nice to see a healthy Miami team the entire series. Yes Shaq dunks a lot but he's a giant 350 pound man that makes moves that you and me couldn't even think about making in our sleep. I think he has three championships so I don't think he'll lose any sleep if he doesn't get another one. Shaq probally would've had at least one more Championship if it wasn't for Kobe's punk a@@ running him out of LA. I think with one more player the Heat probally make it to the Championship next year.

Shaq, is a good player, and if you want to blame the loss on anyone you should try to blame it on the rest of the Heat team. During the last 2-3 minutes of the game they never gave the ball to Shaq, if he doesn't score he usually get enough attention to allow other people to get open, that, in my opinion, is why Miami fell short! All well Game 1 is tonight!!! GO PISTONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

yeah the Pistons might have lost to hte Lakers in game won but took the series but the Lakers did not have a ginobili and a tall Duncan who can hit jump shoots, and a parker who speed is if not equal to ginobili. the funniest play is when parker was circling around the team with his quickness then went up for the layup which he drew the foul

Funniest play? How about the funniest call (or non-call for that matter). When Ben Wallace was guarding Ginobli and stood still in Ginobli's path, and Ginobli charged right into him...drawing a BLOCKING FOUL!!?!??  That ish was hilarious!!

I'm surprised Ginobil didn't run circles around Ben Wallace when he was trying to guard him out around the three point line. I've seen the play a few times (slow motion) and it looks like Ben's feet are moving so there for it would be the right call. It's the playoffs and you can't afford to lose your cool and get a technical foul. I think after that the Spurs went on a 19-4 run. It would've been even worse if Bowmen was hitting his shots.

pc_techie832
06-10-2005, 11:49 AM

The spurs played like they were immortal last night. The second half when they kept stealing the ball, it was a shame. I dont like the pistons but I have to say, no team needs to get beat that bad. It was like the Spurs were toying with them. They get a 20+ point lead, Pistons would bring it down to 10, then Spurs would bring it back up a notch. Then in 4th quarter the Pistons got it to eight, what happened? The Spurs ended it with a 20 point blow out. I flet kind of bad for the Pistons cause they tried everything against this team but nothing worked. Bowman hitting threes all day and Ginobili had an almost perfect game. You would think after Parker got his 5th foul and was out the rest of the game it would be the end of spurs, but they are like a reptile. You cut off its tail and it grows another back. Thats how they played, one man was out, another stepped its game up to fill the gap. I have to say after watching these two games in this series, Spurs deserve the championship.

My observation is that Detriot just can't match the Spurs intensity, I don't know if it's the Spurs long rest and Detriot's lack of rest or what, but I think that Miami series took alot out of them, they are just two steps behing the Spurs.

We (Miami) would have won if we had healthy players. All of our starters were hurt. I am surprised it went to a Game 7, and furthermore to the last 4 minutes of the game. Detroit had a better team, but if Miami had a healthy Wade and Shaq and everyone else - we would have won it in 5 - 6. Detroit would have only taken Game 1.

yeah...detroit played really well...but the refs were still a little whistle happy, and i hate to say it but a lot of the times it was against SA (im a det fan btw) but the detroit d picked it up at the end!

I know it! All those SA turnovers........gahhhh.

Pistons played good tonight. Everything bounced there way.Pistons need to win 2 more then I might get worried. If Ginobli`s knee is ok he`ll bounce back.

the only reason im doubting is because they have a tought time in SA and have to win there at least once if they wanna get this championship, and if they play like tonight then its in the bag, but if like games 1 and 2 then we got a problem

The piston's definately played like champions last night. To win it they are going to have to play like that the rest of the series.

Billups had a few clutch three pointers exspecially right after Rasheed got a tech. The game turned when Parker went out for a rest with a few minutes left in the third quarter and the Spurs had some turnovers. The Spurs didn't play that good and still were only down 5 going into the 4th quarter. It wouldn've been nice if Ginobli hit that three close to the end of the game. Not sure if the Pistons can come back on a days rest and play with the same intensity but will see.

Where you been?. lol For some reason I think even if the Spurs won last night you would still think the Pistons would win the Championship.

I'm pulling for Detroit all the way in this series. I have to say though that this is THE MOST IMPORTANT game so far in the series. Detroit wins and BAM! we have a new 3 game series. San Antonio wins and they're up 3-1 and Detroit has to win 3 straight which would be next to impossible. I'd have to put my money on Detroit the way they play at home. I think that's what it may come down to...each winning all their respective home games. Too bad game 7 couldn't be playing on a neutral court!

It's amazing at how good each team is yet every game has been won by what, 15 points or more? I mean what's up with game 4 of the NBA finals and a team wins by 31 points!? A lot has to do with home court advantage. What they should do is travel to different cities for each game. The court would always be neutral and more people could catch a playoff game. They do that in the Super Bowl...why not the NBA?

It's gonna be tough for them to win. If Detroit wins Sunday and goes back to San Antonio up 3-2, I think it will be hard for the Spurs to win two in a row even at home when they are facing elimination. Look at what happened to them last year with the Lakers.

What a game... What a game... I was kinda mad at big shot bobby in the first half and most of the 3rd quarter because he wasn't playing that good but he made some HUGE shots and that dunk was sick. Not sure what shoulder Horry reinjured but I can't beleave he made another three after that. I Also can't beleave Duncan missed that tip in at the end of regulation. Spurs had great defense on the Pistons on the last play in overtime and I'm sure some Piston fans will argue that Parker fouled Hamilton but if you saw the reply if anything Hamilton pushed off.

Just listened to bowens interview and he was asked about what Hamilton was saying to him. Bowen said he couldn't repeat it and that it's basically not good for the game becasue when kids see it they do it and sometimes it doesn't turn out good. That makes me not like Hamilton/Pistons even more. The Spurs aren't my team but I want them to win the championship becasue they just play the game. I know there is trash talking in practically every sport but it's getting so bad I don't even want to whatch it. Yes I saw bowen give a elbow to the chest to Hamilton but it wasn't like Hamilton didn't do anything to bowen.

I have to say they played a game last night. Man I did not want to get up to do anything. But if I could give an MVP to anyone last night, I say Horry gets it as he stepped up his game last night and showed viewers that at this age, he still can hit threes like nothing. The last three he hit to put them over by 1 was awesome and if it was in San Antonio, he would have gotten a standing ovation (sp). Right now I just hope tuesdays game is awesome as well.

Just thought you Pistons fans would like to see Robert Horry's full exstension. :hee: Looked like MJ from the the foul line. Pistons fans don't even say it was a charge because Hamilton was moving and practically under cut Horry. I forgot to mention in my last post Rasheed had two brain farts. He tried to call a time out without any time outs but luckily the time ran out right before he did it. The other brain fart was when he left Horry wide open with 10 seconds in overtime. Also I just saw Hamilton's post interview and he thought he got fouled on the last shot in overtime. Oh my god he can't say it was good defense. He Practically threw Parker down.

What a heartbreaker that was last night. I have no idea what Sheed was thinking by leaving Horry open for the three when he was on point all night long. And the timeout he almost called...yeah what was that? He almost pulled a Chris Webber. Well, it's gonna be alot harder than it needed to be, but the Pistons can still pull this out. What's up with Horry anyway? Isn't this like the closest that he's come to helping a team he's on actually win a championship. He just tags along as a bench warmer, looking for the next team that will win a title. Didn't he win 2 with Houston, 2 with LA, and maybe 2 with San Antonio. That just sucks balls. Then there are guys like Charles Barkley and Reggie Miller that never win titles! The whole title thing is OVER-RATED!

I forget what game it was but I think Duncan hit 15 out 15 foul shouts. He has no confidence and I think he takes to much time to shoot it. I just hope he's not on the line if it's a close game at the end. Ginobli missed a few. Mycdess and Ben Wallace had some UGLY free throws as well. These guys are paid millions they should be automatic from the foul line.
