View Full Version : sprint vs. t-mobile
hey everyone,
can i get some comments regarding t-mobile's service (voice and data) as it compares to sprint's? i have been with sprint for better than 5 years and recently started my own company. my partner has tmo and he's been bugging me to switch. i searched the forums but didnt find a thread that compared these two carriers per say. any thoughts? to me, what matters are price points (ie good minutes for the money), voice quality (most important), then phone selection.
i have a 1000min/$50 free and clear plan with unlimited nw @8pm and unlimited pcs2pcs.
love to hear from folks that have used both carriers. also, i'm in houston in case that matters. thanks for the input......
It really depends on your location. Every carrier is different in different areas, so someones experience in CA or MI or NY isn't going to matter a whole bunch to you unless you spend time in the same town/city/state as they're in.
As far as phone selection, you can basically choose from any unlocked GSM phones, but that can be a good thing or a bad thing, depending on personal preference.
Personally, I'd never switch to T-Mobile just because they're not good in my area and I dont like their selection of phones. As a matter of fact, T-Mobile is probably the last carrier I'd switch to IF I was ever to leave Sprint.

I have no idea how T-Mobile is around here.......but, I can assume that as long as you're within the Beltway (or just outside it), you shouldn't have a problem with any of the major carriers.
Check out T-Mobile's plans (if you haven't already).....see if they actually compare to what you already have. Also, you may want to find a T-Mobile store/seller in your immediate area (that has active phones, of course) and try the phones out; or, perhaps try your partner's phone for an extended period (if possible).
If you aren't happy with what Sprint is giving........go find out what you can get. :)
(There are some other Houston area folks here; perhaps one of them has/had T-Mobile)

well, tmobile just re-released their 45.99/month plan with 1000 anytime and free n/w. it's not exactly what you have now, but it's a great price considering you'd be just a new customer. it would be 6.99 more for mobile to mobile and your nights would be starting at nine of course. if i were in your shoes, i wouldn't switch carriers just for the mobile to mobile, because most people will only use 150-200 m2m minutes per month even though they think they'll use 1000 m2m. i've used both sprint and tmobile internet, and i can say that if you're using high end phones for both carriers, tmobile is faster. a co-worker of mine got a motorola a630 (i hate motorola phones too), and t-zones goes from page to page ridiculously fast). it seems like the internet on mid grade tmobile phones are about the same as any sprint phone i've seen though. if you don't have the sprint america plan now, tmobile would get you better coverage out west with their roaming areas that they have from cingular. of course, if you're paying the $5 for the america plan, then sprint would have tmobile beat pretty good on coverage. one thing that's cool with tmobile is that it's only a 1 year contract. another thing that's cool is that they'll add loyalty minutes to your plan without you calling anything like a retentions department. the downside is that, if you do call in, tmobile won't be able to give you these crazy 750 minute , 8 pm nts, pcs to pcs plans for $10. :indiff:

sprint in houston is pretty darn good. All of my family has sprint in houston (like 8+ phones I think) and we average only about 4 roaming calls per month between all of us using about around 10G min.
I hope that helps.
Oh and I've never had tmobile.

i was actually told about that plan. i have a friend who runs a few tmobile stores in town and he was telling me that he would even get me an unlocked moto razr for free. apparently he feels for the biz i'm in..i should have the blingiest phone out there! i guess cause i hooked him up with his home entertainment stuff, he's returning the favor. (that's what i do btw...own and run a home theater installation biz)
anyways, if i were to add the $3 sms (which i believe gives u 300 sms/month) to the 45.99 plan, i would be at $50 again...but i won't have mobile to mobile less i pay the $6.99 as you indicated. sooo...only thing i'm gaining is a phone and 9pm nites! :p <sigh> decisions decisions...

Okay,
To post on the differences is enormous.
I have had SPCS for 5 yrs now. My friend has T-mobile. We are always arguing over who's company is better. I used to work for SPCS and would always check up on the competition to make sure I could answer questions from customers who were looking to switch from SPCS to another carrier or from another carrier to SPCS!
Here's several things to concentrate on!
1) SPCS's entire service is everywhere SPCS's signal is. Meaning that if I travel the 150 miles from Ft. Worth to Abilene, I can play on the web, send pictures AND talk on my phone the whole way there.
W/ T-Mobile, VZ & Cingular, Once I get more than 10-15 miles into the trip, I can't use any feature other than to talk on the phone. (I have proven this several times when traveling with others who have these services.
Sure, I may run out of SPCS signal area, then I wont have all the features, but no matter where I am, as long as I have SPCS signal, I can load a picture, play on the web or talk to anyone, anywhere I want. The other providers CAN'T claim this and they know it.
2) I have compared ALL the latest plans available for each carrier, and while T promises 1000 minutes for $39.99, it is an area wide plan, the other carriers offer something similar, but alot of them also limit where you can call EVEN while still in your calling area. I think this is very bogus and if you have a business, you can't be limited to just your calling area. Even SPCS's area wide plans still include free NATIONWIDE calling while inside your calling area.
3) While Cingular has rollover minutes, and others tout large plans for little money, NONE of them have the Fair & Flexible! ONLY SPCS is helping you out if you go over your minutes. AND BELIEVE ME! MOST PEOPLE DO! I'd rather pay an extra $10 a month for 800 ATM AND have the knowledge if I use an extra 200 minutes, my bill will only be $5 higher, VS saving that $10 a month and paying up to $80 for that same extra 200 minutes! What do you think?
Now, I know each carrier has their own little niche of savings, phones and plans, but while I do check on the other carriers from time to time, it only reasurres me that I am with the best company out there.
I had T-mobile, and then transferred the service to Sprint. One reason is that customer service at the stores are really very friendly, but they are not too flexible with the plans. They have a lot of dealers and stores in the metro Honolulu area, but they really tend to push sales. Well, okay, they are sales people, but they tend to really get aggressive when you walk into the store. Customer service is excellent, but I guess you pay for them with your monthly service plan. Much more expensive than Sprint, but then, if you want cute girls in sexy outfits and really friendly service, maybe T-Mo is the way to go.
Plus, I haven't found tmobileusers.com anywhere on the web.

I had T-Mobile and was VERY VERY pleased with their customer service. Singal was adequade in my area but with T-Mobile I had free roaming so I didn't really care who's network I was using. I left them for a better phone.
But without a doubt T-Mobile Cust service is some of the best.

one other thing to consider if this is for the type of business you are talking about, is readylink...don't know if T-Mobile offers that, or if they do, how it stacks up to Sprint, but Sprint's readylink (walkie-talkie) service is actually pretty good...of course if you all have Sprint and free PCS-PCS then the walkie talkie is a redundant cost...
does that $50/1000 have vision?
no. my plan is straight voice. i do need to upgrade my phone but even retention isnt willing to offer free equipment (minus the std mail-in rebate) or any additional service cept the std 2 month free vision with 100 sms. they keep saying my plan is better than whats offered. i've been with sprint for more than 5 years with 2 lines and monthly charge of better than $95. if i was offered either of those options, i wouldnt think twice. from a biz perspective, i dont honestly see the value in vision. i've used it a bunch of times and just find the experience rather empty. i need reliable phone, reliable network...and maybe sms. i sorta equate sms to email. my customers will not sms me, they would call. my friends, on the other hand, might use that option.
would you guys consider moving if you got free hardware? is razr that worth it?

T-Mobile got the worst rating for call quality. They have the highest dropped call rate, while Sprint has the lowest along with Verizon. You're going to be going on to a GSM network, so you're going to lose call quality compared to CDMA. If you have 1 bar of signal with T-Mobile, you're going to have a hard time hearing the person, or vise versa. With Sprint, if you have 1 bar, you're going to be ok, you probably already know this. Also, T-Mobile has no plans of upgrading from 2G to 3G, so if you want the leading edge, you won't get it at T-Mobile.

dfwtxpatrick,
you must not get off the beaten path much if you're saying you travel all over the place and can still surf the web with sprint. of the top 5 companies (nextel, sprint, cingular, verizon, and tmobile) they have fewest towers that they own. compare the maps and you will see what i mean.
also, you must not have looked at the competition THAT much when you were selling sprint, because they only have one "area wide" or regional coverage plan, and it's 3000 minutes for 49.99/ month with no N/W, and free calling to anywhere from anywhere in your "home" area.
their current 1000 minute plan for 39.99 is nationwide with weekends included, and their 45.99 plan is nationwide with 1000 min and nights and weekends included.

As a long time Sprint User, and a long time T-Mobile Salesperson, I get to see the good (and sometimes ugly) of both carriers. Both are awesome companies....
Most of the customers (I'd say 8 out of 10) that I switch from Sprint to T-Mobile are leaving because of customer service issues or billing problems. I like the ease of T-Mobile... shorter contracts, cheaper plans and features.... but they are lacking in several areas too... mainly the night time calling. Having it start at 9 is a definite drag when you are used to having it at 7.
Id say go and sign up with T-Mobile and take advantage of the 14 day grace period to try it out.... If you like it and choose to stick with it, you can port your number from Sprint and T-Mobile can cancel it for you.
Good luck!! Its hard to leave a company you've always been with and always trusted, but sometimes, change is good (and cheaper!! ;))

Actually, that 39.99 plan doesnt offer free weekends or weeknights right now. Its just 1000 minutes a month for 39.99. There is, however, a plan for 39.99 that has 600 daytime and free n&w....
You can view the current plans here.... and there is also a coverage map for the Original Poster....

Didn't T-Mo put up extensive coverage maps recently?
There were two reasons I didn't switch to T-Mo ... Cingular approved me for four lines, no deposit, while T-Mo gave me two and second, at the time (December) they didn't have a phone I wanted and I didn't want to wait for the Moto a630.
Everyone I know who has T-Mo (yeah, only anecdotal evidence, but there it is) -- about a half dozen people -- are very happy with their service.
Neither GSM carrier in the U.S. has walkie-talkie-like service AFAIK, though those phones are made for GSM carriers elsewhere in North America. Just an FYI.
As for call quality, this depends on a) user preference and b) network quality c) other circumstances. In order to find out how you like GSM compared to CDMA, I'd suggest you try it. Perhaps T-Mo offers loaner phones. Call and ask. Take a phone out for 24 hours, test the network out for free, see if you like it. That can help tremendously when making a decision. I strongly recommend getting in as much hands-on time as possible with T-Mo equipment and face time with its reps before making a decision. Take your time. Switch only if it's the best choice for you in terms of coverage, phone selection and pricing. Ultimately, as much as we can advise, you will be the one using the service.
Good luck with your research. I'll be curious to know what you decide.

I was wondering the same thing. Especially since when I have one bar on my Cingular phone, the call comes through. If I had just one bar on my Sprint phone, the call nearly always went to voicemail. But, that's just my personal experience.
Like I said, some people prefer GSM to CDMA in terms of audio quality, and in some areas, there other circumstances that can negatively affect things. You really can't make a blanket statement about something like this.

While I haven't cruised through dirt roads or "lost" towns, I have driven from DFW to Shreveport to New Orleans to Jackson, MS back to New Orleans to Houston to DFW on one trip. I only lost signal in the middle of now where between NO and Jackson, MS for about 11 miles.
Then I have driven DFW to El Paso to San Antonio to Houston to Galveston back to DFW W/O having lost signal 1 time.
On all these trips, the one constant was that I could use my phone to talk, surf the web and send pictures and txt msgs w/o having one problem.
Pls understand that I am not saying you will have SPCS signal EVERYWHERE you go, but I was very please with the service I did have and was able to use ALL SPCS services everywhere I had SPCS service.

I use both T-mobile and Sprint. In my area (metro Atlanta) Sprint has a slight edge in coverage. It seems T-mobile's coverage is also a little more fragile. I have used both T-Zones and Vision and can say I prefer Vision. T-mobile doesnt seem to have as good of call quality as sprint either. My Tmobile phone makes digital sounding beeps frequently throughout the call, but they are very quiet so its not that annoying. This may be a result of the phone I use though (Samsung e105) Another thing to consider is rural coverage. Sprint definatley wins here, if you have the $5 roaming option. If both provide good coverage where you live then I would consider either, because they are both good.

As to GSM vs. CDMA, I don't like GSM one bit, every time i call my wife from my GSM phone she says its hard to understand me. Every time my boss calls on his there is a ton of background noise and i hate waiting for it to connect, its really bad. But that's just me.

no. my plan is straight voice. i do need to upgrade my phone but even retention isnt willing to offer free equipment (minus the std mail-in rebate) or any additional service cept the std 2 month free vision with 100 sms. they keep saying my plan is better than whats offered. i've been with sprint for more than 5 years with 2 lines and monthly charge of better than $95. if i was offered either of those options, i wouldnt think twice. from a biz perspective, i dont honestly see the value in vision. i've used it a bunch of times and just find the experience rather empty. i need reliable phone, reliable network...and maybe sms. i sorta equate sms to email. my customers will not sms me, they would call. my friends, on the other hand, might use that option.
would you guys consider moving if you got free hardware? is razr that worth it?
As a business tool, the barely two hour battery life makes the razr both useless and worthless. --ryan

well, in my area i'm selling 39.99 plan with 1000 anytime minutes AND FREE WEEKENDS. maybe they are just offering it in certain areas of the country. i also have the 45.99 plan with 1000 anytime and FREE NIGHTS AND WEEKENDS. we aren't selling the 39.99 1000 minute plan with no nights and weekends.

I recently switched from Sprint to T-Mobile for two reasons: First, I couldn't get a signal in my apartment, and second, the only Sprint phone I really liked, the MM-5600, was way too expensive. I had being using my trusty SCP-5300 for two years. T-Mobile's data service, T-Zones, isn't quite as reliable or slick as Sprint's, but it does seem somewhat faster, and it's much cheaper. Voice quality is no worse than Sprint's in the Seattle area, and I get reception in all the same places I used to. If my apartment had better Sprint reception, I probably would've stayed if for no other reason than Vision. Neither company has a really good range of phones, but at least now I can choose from all of the European GSM phones, if I want to spend $400 to $500.

The beeping might be the 'minute minder'..... Might check that and get rid of that....

Most important thing to remember is "does it work where I need it to work?" Case in point, I was meeting two Microsoft people for dinner last week, with only the cell phone for contact info on one of them. I called, left VM and then headed down to their hotel. Called again and left VM. Then had hotel call the room. When they came down to meet me, he showed me his PDA/phone (HP, T-Mobile) and scrolled thru missed messages . . . NOTHING from me at all. We could see one Cingular tower from the hotel parking lot (it's in an industrial area alongside I-95 and US-1) . . . there are 3 or 4 antennas on that tower, no idea if T-Mobile is on it or not. He is from St. Louis and his boss switched over to AT&T/Cingular because she told us that she wasn't getting reception/calls in Dallas where she lives/works (Microsoft). I know that T-Mobile has pathetic service in the Boston area, so I've never given them serious consideration. . . over the past 12 years I've used every other provider.

We sell T-Mobile, Dish Network and a new internet service called ClearWire....
just to close this out...for those who were curious..i switched to t-mobile. took the $69.99 family plan for two lines with free nights and weekends and 300 txt msgs on main line. so saving about $10-15 when compared to my current plan. also, i got two phones for free. samsung x475 and unlocked moto razr. also, only had to sign 1 year agreement for all this.
best i was getting from sprint was same number of minutes and price point but the low cost 6016 nokia phones. if i went with a740, then i would be out of pocket $80 assuming in went with 2 year agreement.
so in all..sad to leave sprint. but i will be around so pm me if you like.

Here's my experience with T-Mobile...
I heard coverage was good in my area so I gave them a shot. I liked the fact that they carried Nokias, they have good data plans, are reasonably priced, plus the 1 year contract. Coverage was pretty good. Except in my house. :p That pretty much settled it for me. Their street level coverage map said my house should be fine too. So I guess what I'm saying is even if you supposedly get good coverage in your area, check it out for yourself.

hey everyone,
can i get some comments regarding t-mobile's service (voice and data) as it compares to sprint's? i have been with sprint for better than 5 years and recently started my own company. my partner has tmo and he's been bugging me to switch. i searched the forums but didnt find a thread that compared these two carriers per say. any thoughts? to me, what matters are price points (ie good minutes for the money), voice quality (most important), then phone selection.
i have a 1000min/$50 free and clear plan with unlimited nw @8pm and unlimited pcs2pcs.
love to hear from folks that have used both carriers. also, i'm in houston in case that matters. thanks for the input......
I have experiences both with T-mobile and Sprint. I had the 1000 anytime nationwide with unlimited nights & weekend for $39.99 with T-mobile. This plan offers free roaming. I also have the 2500 anytime family share plan with Sprint pcs for $100, 2nd line free, 3rd, 4th, and 5th were $10 a piece. I had both services at the same time for a year, and in the end I dropped the T-mobile service because I had better coverage with Sprint then T-mobile. Sprint has the $5 add-on that let's you roam on ANY CDMA for free up 50% usage of your minutes if you have a corporate area phone #. T-mobile is fine if you are in major cities, but if you travel out in the boon docks, there's no signal at all. Sprint let's you roam on ANY CDMA networks, this includes Verizon, Cellularone, and the host other CDMA carriers. The thing that sealed the deal for me with Sprint is that CDMA has the "old" analog system. With old analog system as a backup, you could get a signal in the middle of no where, like in the woods, and the deserts that with T-mobile can't get any signal at all. CDMA is the de-factor standard in USA! At this moment in the USA CMDA's coverage is bigger than GSM's coverage. Keep in mind that both Sprint and T-mobile uses the 900/1900 Mhz spectrum. So sometimes when you are in a building the phone signal is not able to penerate the build as well as the 800 MHz signal. The up side is that Sprint let's you roam on 800 MHz "old" analog on it's tri-mode phone, your problem is solved, with T-mobile you don't have the 800 MHz option, because T-mobile's phones only has the 900 or 1900 MHz frequency. Because the lack of 800 MHz frequency, sometimes you no signal at all in buildings. I travle alot and Sprint always has a signal, even when there's not Sprint coverage around, and I'm roaming another CDMA network. With T-mobile, I've been to places that I get no signal at ALL, including other GSM networks! I'm more confident with Sprint's CMDA coverage than T-mobile's GSM coverage!
The most important suggestion that I have for you is no matter which carrier you decide to go with, MAKE SURE you pick a phone that has excellent signal reception, battery life, and sound quality, regardless of how the phone looks. Most people get the phone because it's free, or "cute", and this is where they run into problems. So some research, read reviews, and and ask around in phone forum because making your phone decision.
Here's my suggestions.
Regarding T-mobile
1. Keep T-mobile if you want to use your phone internationally, because GSM world standard.
2. If you live in major cities, and do not travel to remote areas
Regarding Sprint
1. Keep Sprint if you want the best coverage available in the USA, with the $5 add-on free roaming option you have a virtual blanket coverage of the USA at your disposal. This includes all of Verizon's network coverage!
2. The downs side to Sprint's phone is that you can't use it internationally, because it uses CDMA, and MOST of the world uses GSM

I know T- Mobile is very strong in europe but with the up coming merger it is going to place them at a distant 4th, So even know there strong in europe they might not want to throw good money at bad money in the USA.
Is there going to be room for 4 wireless companies, maybe not. Time will tell. But why would one want to go to a company that has nothing planned for the future, Sprint has been planning for the future for a while now and the future is here now.
I like T-Mobile. Their standard plans are almost as good and in some cases better than Sprint retention plans. Right now it is 1000 minutes and nites/weekends for 45.99, but on the west coast it is only 39.99 for that same plan. In El Paso, Texas I have full reception wherever I go. I was at the Houston airport a few times and also got full reception there. Also they are rolling out EDGE soon so the internet will be much faster, and they are not going to charge you more for it.
The things I like about T-Mob are:
-cheap plans
-Friendly people
-$5 internet compared to sprint $15
-use any unlocked phone
-1 year contracts only
-discount on phone after 11 months
-2.99 for 300 text or 1000 for 6.99
-they don't have that "we are better than you" attitude" *cough* Verizon *cough*
Things I don't like about T-Mobile:
-Sometimes takes them awhile to get the latest and greatest phones (they are just getting the razr in July)

Despite increasing competition and spectrum concerns T-Mobile USA Inc. said it expects to continue posting around 1 million net customer additions per quarter through the rest of 2005 and with the help of upcoming spectrum auctions begin rolling out next-generation services by the end of next year
That, and they are already rolling out EDGE in a few markets.
I'd say that T-Mobile customers have as much to look forward to as any other carrier.

They do if they come in as SMS but a lot phones on T-Mobile (like most Nokias) have a built-in IM client. Using the IM client uses GPRS so it doesn't count against your SMS bucket and you can still recieve calls.
Yamigo is the server I use, it lets you keep in contact with all your ICQ, MSN, AIM and Yahoo contacts at once and best of all its completely free!
EDIT: Oops. looks like Matt beat me to it.

EDGE?? what a joke ATT unrolled EDGE 2 years ago. Sprint's rolling EV-DO then EV-DV. I know lots of people who have T-mobile and have a lot of trouble with service. I'am a fan of CDMA cause I like the assurance that I'll be able to use my phone virtually every where in the US. with t-mobile and GSM period once you leave the coverage map there's no service period. I have used GSM. had ATT. and I've called people with gsm and it sound poor most of the time more then it sounds good. CDMA and GSM both have there advatages over each other. While CDMA in NYC sounds better than GSM by far , GSM has deeper penetration in buildings and sbuways then CDMA. But sprint pcs offers the best coverage I've ever seen in highrise office buildings in manhattan and the rest of the city period. Every other carrier has trouble in buildings taller then 35 stories. They will drop calls constantly or have no service. in 4 years I've never had a problem in highrise buildings with sprint. Face it no carrier is perfect, T-mobile just has alot of stuff that need to be worked out, but there using GSM technology which to me is just inferior. The sim card swap thing is the best idea I've ever seen but after that what else is there?. Still to this day I think TDMA is better then GSM. Better and stronger coverage and better voice clarity.

I know everyone does not live in manhattan i dont live there either. But it's a perfect example of just how good every carrier's network really works. Every company has a massive amount of tower all over manhattan all within 1-2 blocks of each other. There should be no reason you dont get good coverage with any provider there. And if your network can't even perform good within a small place such as manhattan how am I to belive it will perform somewhere else that has less towers setup there and reception being a on a lower priority level as some where such as mid-town manhattan. Manhattan is priority number 1 in the tri-state area . Like I said GSM has better penetration in subways then CDMA will ever have wether it's @ 800mhz or 1900mhz. But that's where the advatages stop altogether. This argument can go on forever, I have no clue to as why the person who started thi thread would ask it here any way. You already know what kind of answer you would get here, same if I were to ask this on a t-mobile site.

Not to mention that you can't base any carrier's nationwide coverage or usability in metropolitan areas based on how its network performs in one city. There are so many circumstances that affect how a network performs that are unique to the region they are in. It's just pure logical fallacy known as inductive reasoning to say that if a carrier can't cut it in Manhattan, then it must suck everywhere.
By the way, the law requiring carriers to maintain analog networks is going to sunset in 2008, CDMA users better hope Sprint and Verizon and all those regional carriers dramatically expand their native digital coverage. Oh, check it out, GSM carriers have already begun to phase out their analog networks and expand their native digital coverage.
Yeah, so let's not talk about analog and how having it is so much better. The minute carriers aren't required to maintain those networks, say buh-bye to tri-band phones.

Here's a new T-Mo phone I just ran into:
Sony Ericsson D750 gets FCC approval
http://phonearena.com/imgs/pics/articles/D750-sm.jpg
Sony Ericsson's new D750 phone was recently approved by the FCC. Even though it supports 1900 US frequency, the D750 will be [exclusively] available from T-Mobile Europe. The phone features 176x220, 262k TFT display and 2 megapixel camera with autofocus and 4x digital zoom and video capabilities. Data can be transferred through GPRS or locally by Bluetooth, IrDa, and USB. The built-in memory is 34MB but can be extended through Memory Stick Duo cards. The phone comes with 64MB one. Well, bug off. You clearly do not know. I have used my t mobile phone all up and down the west coast. That includes high rise buildings. I have yet to have a problem. Untill you have done the same, with both technologies, I would suggest you keep your third opinions to yourself. I can't figure out why you Sprint people make stuff up to feel better about your provider.
why you gettin so damn toucy about the subject man. Did I say t=mo was trash or anything like that?? I just said I did'nt like them. And you sprint people making up stuff?? if you feel that way about sprint people why are you on a sprint site if you feel that way about the people on this site??. Is'nt there a t-mobile site you can go to or something??? And yes I have seen how it performs in highrise buildings, not the best as other carriers have problems also. Get it str8 I never said anything disrespectful towards your carrier just stated my opinions and experiences, and you get all green in the face about it damn dude chill out. If t-mobile works then I'am glad if you love them that's good too. Just for me and a number of people here and people I know it does'nt work for them.

Are you sure that I do not have a Sprint line still? Either way, I knew that would come up. I have every right to be here and will continue to do so. Thank you. Quill said it best anyway. Good night.

I had a T-mobile sidekick and got rid of it cause it browsed the web horrible. I had the $30 data only plan and it was a lot slower than vision for me, it just didn't load pages well at all. It looked pretty cool the way the screen flipped around and it does AIM really good, but it is not that easy to type on fast. Who uses AIM enough to make it worth $30? It felt awkward when I talked on it, and it did the web so bad that I had a hard time doing emails. I thought the coverage was pretty good though and they have had the best CS for a while. To each his own...

Just about an hour ago, I ported my number out to T-Mobile for the reasons listed above. Sprint double charged my credit card, and all my bank asked for was a letter saying that they made a mistake so they can reverse the charges TODAY. Nope. Sprint wont do anything for me, I called everyone I could, including exec. services, nada.
T-Mobile wont give me the same services I have with Vision since I am smart access, and I wont have 7pm nights which I loved, but I also wont be paying 80 a month, but only 50.

You should have the same service as Vision with smart access, you just can't use your phone as a modem.
Anyways I want to invite you over to gsm-users.com where there's a growing community of other T-Mobile users and Cingular users.
SprintUsers.com was created in January 2002 as a resource for users of Sprint PCS products and services to learn about and share information. We have cll phone reviews, Cellular Accessories, Downloads, PDA reviews, Ringtones, all of the latest Sprint PCS news and information, an area where you can find help in creating a ring tone or custom image for you phone, and so much more. The most popular section is the message board where visitors can read and write messages, ask questions, and get advice about their cellular phone from other users.
