Hey guys,

Im thinking of getting a 650 and would like to recieve emails from exchange. I have a Blackberry and recieve emails in real time and we have the BB enterprise server running, however we do not allow external IMAP connections or POP. Is there anyway to recieve emails to my 650 via some sorta desktop client or anything? Also, I can check email over webmail if that helps.

the 650 comes with versamail that has an exchange server option, and then you can setup multiple pop or imap accounts, so you dont need anything on the desktop. but if you need your contacts, calendar dates and such off that server, you would need Business Connections Personal Edition which you do download to your computer then you have a seperate client on the device for all that. and its almost as instant as your blackberry.

But if our exchange server doesn't allow external IMAP or POP connections how does the PDA get the emails?

Do you have to use a VPN connection to get your work e-mail from home?

because it doesnt go through your exchange server. it goes through the Business Connections account on the website. once you set it up for your main email(the exchange) then you set up the other accounts on the website.

edit: or if you are using the versamail option you set up multiple accounts on the versamail client, not the server. so the server isnt touched for those other accounts.

I can if I VPN in or I can use the webmail account.
