Was looking for information on how to get movies that are converted from avi, mpeg ect...to 3GPP so you can watch movies on your phone like the Sanyo 5600. I know the transflash card has files for media, pics ect..but where does the video have to be in order to view and what would you use to watch the video..the media player ?? the video camera playback option ?? ect. and the last question is what file ext does the 3gpp have to be in order for the phone to except the movie for watching ?? mp4, m4p ect..
Thanks ...Leon

Deval has a thread on this topic with specifics about formats and free programs you can use to do the conversion...the 5600 plays 3GP and MP4 files from the media folder...you just drag and drop using the USB cable...not sure about specifics for other phones, since most besides the smart phones do not have the memory card slot...

When someone gets video transfered from their computer to actually work please post the instuctions on how to do it . I tried for like 3 hours last night with no luck . I put the files in the video folder and the media folder and was unable to get them to play . Maybe I had the wrong format . I used an mpeg video . Not sure if it was an mp4 . I'll try converting it to that .
Also is there a full screen mode when watching the videos, and can the video be viewed in landscape(widescreen) mode ?

the instructions are the same for every MM phone with a memory card slot...as long as its a .3gp file, it will play on the phone as long as its in the MEDIA folder

I converted the video to a 3gp file using a conversion program . The video now plays on the media player, but it plays really choppy, like 3 frames a second, and the audio is all muffeled .

I ve been using 3gp converter to make my files and when i stick them into the media player folder to play them...they dont play. The file extention on the file are 3gp. Do i need to do something different to make the media player play them ? I know I hear some people say they have mp4 has a file ext...what program are you using and do you rename the file with mp4 or is it done automatic by the program you use ....

OK Finally got the video working .
If you use the video converter program listed in deval's FAQ and follow those instructions you should be good . I converted many different videos to .3gp and they all work perfectly on the media player .
I should have looked at the FAQ's first . DUH!!

i still think the a800 might be able to utillize more of the screen for a bigger video size than the 5600. Any insight Deval?

http://www.forum.nokia.com/main/0,,034-63,00.html don't know if anyone has seen this link before but its a download from nokia that i used on my a800 and it converts the file avi or mpeg to a 3gp and plays perfect on my phone. I took a 30 meg file and it squashed it to two and a half megs and plays fine and the full length of the video. Takes 5 min to convert and upload to the card boom your playing.

As far as I researched, and found on my own, simple answer no. I may be wrong, but the programming in the phone is only that size, sux but oh well. And PASS me the SAMSUNG!
