This past Sat. I was at my girlfriends house and I accidently left my Toshiba in my pants pocket and ran it through the washing machine. Sunday I called Lockline and they are sending me a replacement which I should have today sometime...keepin' my fingers crossed that they are out of 4050's right now and they sent me a 5600 instead :headbang2 ...
By Monday morning you could see moisture in the outer and inner screens still but the phone powers on and works perfectly even with the water that's still in the phone. I never would have thought that the phone would work again, especially with all the water that's still in it. Toshiba must make a tough phone after all.

I am glad you will be getting a new phone. Toshiba really outdid themselves when they made that phone.........................
can you imagine what an updated version would be like? That was my first Sprint phone and honestly, all other phones pale in comparison, escpecially when I only paid 29.99 for the 4050 brand new from Radio Shack! The ONE feature I miss MOST is the voice guidance; PLEASE tell me you have it on.....................................
anyway, keep us posted on what you get in the mail. :headbang2

my 5500 went through the same thing and more... It fell from about 15 feet up multiple times, crushed in a door, thrown around.. etc. Man that is a durable phone.

Well....I just now got my replacement. It's not the 5600 :irked:
They sent me a Samsung MM700. I don't know if I'm happy or not yet.

I REALLY like the a700, but couldn't you send it back because it doesn't have a QVGA screen?

I dont know why the would send you that phone. It is not even comparable to the 4050. It doesnt have a speakerphone or QVGA display. If I were you I would make them send me something else.

Uh, the replacement for the 4500/5500 should be the 7400, no?

Yeah, I wouldn't take an A700, good camera aside. If your 4050 works, keep using it! It's a tough little phone.

Well I had that problem once with a 4500, and it just took a few days to dry out and it was fine.
