I was tempted to buy the Samsung A800 MM Phone, but then I decided that I would rather ask to the users of this forum. If they knew what phones are coming up in the pipeline for Sprint/Nextel in phones. I've heard that there was a better Megapixel Phone coming along for Sprint from Samsung. I don't know if this is true, it definitely would stop me from purchasing a new phone now, and wait until Let's say March of 2006.
So anyone have any speculation on upcoming phones to Sprint/Nextel in Q3/Q4 of 2005 and Q1/Q2 of 2006. Hopefully it'll be an EV-DO Phone. Also include Nextel, because I use that for work.

Well, if you're willing to wait till March of 06 I'm sure there will be a better phone released.

Sprint is releasing EVDO starting at airports and then working eir way out into the major populated areas starting within the next month or two we already have gotten communications stating that they are preparing to upgrade the system here in this city. Samsung is supposedly the first company that is going to have EVDO on sprint and they should release in July from what the samsung rep said to me. Two new phones and supposedly they are not updated versions of what is out on the Verizon network. Wait a couple of months and see what is out by then EVDO should be nationwide on sprint and we should have a couple of new phones to take advantage of that.
Waiting on the sprint/nextel merger is a crap shoot. While moto is working on pathways between the two networks it is still probably a year off for compatibality between the networks and at least that long for new phones to come out taking advantage of the two networks. The merge isnt complete yet nor is it a done deal so get a phone you like now or what for EVDO but dont wait for the sprint/nextel merger to take place. 18 month upgrade program should get you into the 2nd generation of phones on both networks I hope, by then the bugs should be worked out.

Any word on Bluetooth phones? Friends have been unhappy with the LG phone (weak radio and weak styling).

It's really to each his/her own when it comes to the PM-325 (LG)...
And, it does seem that some people are just getting "lemon" ones. Object Exchange is the big feature that people were wanting, but the 325 does not have.
I am looking forward to the next Bluetooth phone, as well; in fact, it may be a Samsung.....right?

While they may speak much truth.......I wouldn't always take their word as gospel. Only time will truly tell...

Hmm. . . this is just speculation, but I would be willing to be that Sanyo releases the first EVDO capable handset on Sprint's network. It would only be fitting don't you think?

Just speculating also....but....
Maybe it will be similar to Verizon's release.....a trio. Perhaps.....Sanyo, Samsung, and LG will each release an EV-DO handset at the same time.

There is a possiblity that when the merger is finalized " july" reported, that you will have the choice of going to a iDen phone.
I am personally gonna wait till July to see what is really available to us.

but it also has something no phone wishes for: a "heavily delayed" cloud hanging over it :indiff:
but honestly if it came out this year i might drop five benji's on that one.

I'd be scrounging for dollars like the rest of these guys if the a940 had come out at $500 (though Invader J's mention of the screen size has brought me further down to reality). If only tuolumne would stop purposely avoiding the subject and give us the real deal.

I was just wondering, would it be possible to see the phone being described here, http://www.3gtoday.com/devices/devices/device2036.html, as the EV-DO phone possibly for Sprint coming out later this year? I remember reading on www.phonescoop.com that a possible 5-Megapixel camera would be hitting the US Market by Q4 2005/Q1 2006. If that is at all possible, would it look exactly like this, because that has an ugly look towards it.
The 5-Megapixel camera reference was under the review at CES Conference where the Samsung A800 was on display.
(Went and looked at it, and it said CES Conference Review of Samsung A800, and on the bottom it talked about a U.S. Release of a 5-Megapixel phone, so I guess I basically answered my own question. Here goes the link to it, http://www.phonescoop.com/articles/ces_2005/index.php?p=sa2.5)
