I was looking to get another phone since i was only experimenting with an old treo 300. I was debating if i should go with the ppc6600 or the lg 325 which i could use to access internet on my dell axim pda. I did not want to renew for 2 years because i have plans to uprgrade to the ne dell pda phone when it becomes available. The radio shack rep used alot of trickery and deceit and i may have without my permission been placed in a new plan. I bought the phone at full price but i dont intend on redeeming the rebate i did this ysterday may 10th. What can i do. I really dont like this phone. It was refurbished and had dents on the finish.

If you don't want the phone, return it for a full refund, you have a 14 day return policy.
Call customer service and have your old phone put back on you account and your old plan re-enstated if Radio Shack changed it without you wanting it changed.
If you have any problems, PM me and I'll help you more.

1) Call 1-800-THE-SHACK
2) Explain to the rep everything that the associate did, said, and promised
3) Make sure to tell the REP that the phone had dents and scratches WHEN YOU TOOK IT OUT OF THE BOX!!!! (Very important, some RS managers can be d*&^@)
4) The rep will work with you on a solution to your problem (more than likely you will probably get whatever resolution that you want based on what you're telling me)
5) I would also ask that the District Manager be brought in on this so that the store does comply with customer service, plus he could probably coach the associate on proper selling techniques.
Just my 2 cents...

2 things you can do
1) if you didn't sign anything or punch your info into the teleprompter, call *2 from your phone and tell them that you didn't want to sign a 2 yr contract and to put you back on your old plan. Tell them that you never agreed to it and didn't sign anything. Speak to a sup. if you have to. They will have to put you back.
2) if you did sign a contract or go through the teleprompter punching in your SSN, then just return the phone and have the RS associate call sprint cust service and put you back. (See first reply in this thread.)

Sprint Gold - RS return policy is 30 days, but the phone has to be flwless because it has to be resold. If there was a dent, it should have been mentioned by the customer at the time of sale, due to all the bad apples that say it came dented to force a refund when they know damned well it was sold in pristine condition...
To reiterate: The phone might conceivably have been sold with a dent, but the customer will have to prove it.
The DM will probably be the only recourse.

30 days to return the phone isn't the issue... the 2 year contract that danpedraza thinks he signed up for is... that case he has 14 days to canc the contract.
either way, call *2 and just say "representative" and ask them if you were signed up for the 2 year.

...you are correct...and as an update, the thirty days we were allowed in California on contracts is no longer in effect...

what the? all that isn't necessary. especially since he hasn't went back to the store to get the matter cleared up. go to the store first THEN if you don't get results go to another store or higher up.
and how did the rep use trickery and deceit? unless you signed a contract or did the voice prompt you're fine. but didn't you see the dents before you walked out of the store? and its a REFURBISHED phone. you don't have a case when it comes to that. REFURBISHED means some customer used it, brought it back, and all our service center did was clear the ESN and reset the factory settings. come on now.

Thanks for all the replies. I called sprint customer service and they confirmed i was signed up for a new plan effective june 7th. I signed a paper at the store but it was for notification that the phone is refurbised. I looked at my receipt and it has a 150 dollar rebate thing on it. can i just return the phone to radio shack and get my refund without mail in rebate and have them swithch my plan back? There may be complications because the store i paid for the phone at did not have one so they sent me to another store with my receipt and then i just picked up the phone.

And yes the rep at the radio shack was as aggressive as one of those army recruiters. It was like going on a discounted vacation in a timeshare. They make sure you buy before you leave.

Last time I went to Radio Shack to possibly get a new phone to upgrade from my 5500, the guy there told me to pay Sprint the $150 cancellation fee and go to a 'REAL' cell phone company and pointed to the Verizon endcap. They are interesting people there...

As a Radio Shack store manager Im sorry you went through that. Now we dont really have a "contract per say" with sprint, like some people said, you either agree through the system to change your plan or you do it through the key prompt. The rebate I can print out for anyone so it really doesnt say that you upgraded. Now if the store manager isnt helpfull then I would definitly recommend calling the district office, they can get you a new phone (or one in better condition) and they should be able to take care of the contract with sprint through their sprint pcs rep.
Again they are representing all of us so I am sorry you went through that. Hope it gets resolved.

I have seen some pretty serious BS going on at a RS.
I told most here awhile back about the RS rep who was charging $250 to start a SPCS acct, then told the customer that she would only get $125 back at the end of the first year.
He was collecting $250, telling the customers that they needed cash because his CC machine wasn't working, then pocketing $125!
I turned him in for this and he was fired w/in the week. But they will never know how many people he did this too.
It was a small store w/ usually only one rep at a time at work. So it was easy for him to do and get away with.
He was very bold by still doing it when I was in the store. He had no idea I used to work for SPCS and knew what was going on. He also had it down to a T as to what he said and did. That is why I know it wasn't his first time doing it.
NOW, I am not saying all RS is like this, I have experienced very pleasant and honest service at RS most of the time.

I agree^^^^^.
Since he didn't get her money, I don't think they could charge him w/ anything, but if someone came forward, I'm sure they could.
