View Full Version : Games with monthly charges?

Hi all,
I have a question I'm hoping someone can help me out with. My wife downloaded a Dig-dug game from Namco on her phone. She didn't realize that it comes with a 3.99 monthly charge in addition to the cost to download it. My question is how do we stop that 3.99 charge from hitting our invoice each month? Does deleting the game from her phone stop it or do we need to do something else? If anyone can help I'd really appreciate it!
Thanks!

you have to make sure you unsubscribe from it on sprintpcs.com. log in, go to your content manager, then unsubscribe to it. it will stop working on the phone and you wont get charged anymore.
better yet, click the 'request a refund' link and you will get a months worth back.

Thanks for the advice!! I requested a refund since it didn't meet our expectations! I think that monthly subscription fee is kind of sneaky! Anyway, I'm glad I could come here to see how to get rid of it! Much appreciated!

they are sneaky. you have no idea. so many people call in saying they've erased something off their phone (specifically mobitv) and then complain because they are still being charged for it.

<--- Only bought "no expiration" games (you can never go wrong with
Tetris or bowling  ). I tried the monthly subscription thing and was using my 5 credit to pay for it. But after 3 month the credit disappeared mysteriously and I was paying for the game. When I cancelled the game the credit reappeared.

But strangely enough those games no longer work with my new phone and I'd have to pay for them again to get the updated version for my new phone. Hmmm... and they are no longer "no expiration" games.

actually before you even purchase the game through your phone, it states that it is a reoccuring charge. i'm not sure how people miss that, maybe they are just too excited about getting to play the little game to read the info.

That's true. Most people miss the fine print or details on stuff like that

...yeah, and they also miss where it tells you deleting it won't stop the charges RIGHT AS YOU TRY TO DELETE IT!

People need to read...f'real...especially when it takes up the whole screen they are looking at... :eyeroll:

Just Say No.

Find sites that allow you to download free games of high quality. There's a good chance that the people who make such products freely available to you are even more upset with the "system" of current mobile content distribution than you are.

You might find that some of them are so disillusioned with the current process that they'd rather give their products away freely than participate in crooked dealings with crooks. And make no mistake about this; these "mobile content providers" are crooks... greedy overcapitalized leeches who have yet to value-add one dime onto what should be made available directly from the developers.

Stop participating in their corrupted business "model" and perhaps they'll take the hint.
