Okay er' body. I thought I could find the answer by searching but wasn't very successfull. Anyway, if using a data cable and bitpim am I able to back up the items from the downloads folder on the 7400? I had my 7400 replaced by lockline and am trying to transfer my apps, ringers and games to the new phone. Would BitPim be the best thing to use or can someone give me any suggestions?

bitpim will back up your phone book well and not much else...I've gotten it to work with about 10% of my ringers and wallpapers...datapilot or futuredial suite might be a better bet for your purposes, although they are not free like bitpim...if you can remember the sites where you got the stuff in the first place and just reupload it, bitpim will sync your phonebook fine...

the best way to backup your games and apps on your 7400 is use bitpim while the phone is connected. go to filesystem and hit the plus button. you will then hit data and then brew and then downloads (something like that) here u can save your games and apps to your pc. to find the name of the file since it is all numbers, double click the .jad file and it should show up.

Thanks, good answer. I take it you've done that before?

either upload both the .jad and the .jar and use this uploader http://www.gtoal.com/pcs/
or the application will not work with the other phone

oh i need to upload the JAD too... ok. If I understand correctly the JAD points to the JAR, so when downloading do I tell the phone to download the JAD or the JAR?

im not sure, but if you use that uploader it will download it fine. you dont need to upload the jad always but ive found that when i get the 906 error, that will go away with the jad included.
