I'm lookin for a new phone for my bro and have read a lot about how the 7400 has fewer dropped calls than the 8200.
However i haven't found a discussion about which phone does better at switching (and keeping) to roaming and has a clearer (mainly digital) roaming voice quality. i.e. all things roaming.

can anyone comment on this? thanks!

My wife and I witnessed an accident a few weeks back in the middle of nowhere. My 7400 could pick up a roaming signal, and her 8200 couldn't. I don't know much about RF, but that convinced me that the 7400 had better RF performance.

Any chance her PRL update is older?
My phone's reception was questionable with an ancient PRL update that it had....

I really don't know, however; her phone was only a couple of weeks old. What do you have to do to update your PRL? Doesn't calling *2 dp it automatically? If so, She has called *2 on a number of occasions. Her phone waspurcahsed after mine, so I guess I would simply assume her PRL was up to date, although; who knows how long that phone sat in a warhouse at Sprint. Hmmmmm.

I would say the 7400!
