I just wanted to let everyone know that Futuredial has updated the Suite, as of today, to handle the Sanyo MM5600. The only thing is that it can only upload midi ringers, for ringers, not aac or m4a. It doesn't even read those. It works well with contacts and pictures.

Don't see any updates on the futuredial site at all. Where did you get the update? I have been waiting for the snapsync update for the 5600 since I got it, as well as the supposed snapdialer.

You have to go to downloads. They only updated the Futuredial Suite, not the SnapSync or Snapmedia. You can purchase the Suite for 19.99 if you own either SnapSync or Snapmedia. When I entered my email and serial number, there was an update for the suite. They haven't posted it for compatible phones yet though.

It would be just like futurecrap to make us pay for a new version and not update the snap series for those of us who don't want the new suite. I will look into this further.

Not that I don't beleive you, but I will be damned if futurecrap gets another dime out of me before I actually see that they are going to offer the update to actual snapsync users as well. Not to mention the fact that I dont really want to pay shipping charges as well. Should be able to directly download the software if I pay for the upgrade. My experience with futurecrap is that they usually can't hit their ass with either hand. The told me that the 7400 would not support snapsync and that I would have to pay for the upgrade to the suite. I told them to kiss my ass and prepared to resort to other means. Then low and behold, out comes an update that supports the 7400. I will wait them out and see what happens. Once they do straighten things out, I would consider the upgrade to the suite IF and ONLY if it supports modem use with the 5600.

Is Snapdialer supported at all?

It's rumored that support for the 5600 will be available sometime in the near future via snapdialer. I am skeptical, but we shall see. As slow as they are for updates for new phones with their other products I wont hold my breath.

I emailed them asking about support for the 5600 with snapsync and snapdialer, this is there response:
We are constantly working to increase support for more phones. We do not support the Sanyo 5600 with SnapSync, and there will not be any more additional phones added to SnapSync. Instead, FutureDial is moving on to FutureDial Suite software because it uses a more common CVS file which can be used with Excel. You can get the FutureDial Suite upgrade for $20 at FutureDial.com.
Please double check at FutureDial.com, Compatible phones, Phone Manufacturers, and FutureDial Suite for the features that are supported and
the cable needed.
PS: For ease of reference and to avoid delay in handling your inquiry,
when you send us further email on the same issue, please include the contents of all previous/relevant emails.
Sincerely, Dien.

Does futuredial use the same USB data cable that comes with the 5600, or is it proprietary? If the cable I already have is good, I don't mind paying for the Suite, but refuse to pay for the suite plus $25 on top of that for Futuredial's cable... thanks for any info...

This is what I feared. You buy the snapsync sw under the pretense that you will be able to download update modules as new phones are released. Now futurecrap screws us and says WE have to pay for an upgrade. RIDICULOUS. Maybe a BBB complaint is in order.

Did you notice that if that new update included the pm-325 from LG?

Same cable and same cable as we carry (the true OEM cable). The problem is that outgoing dialing is blocked in the phone. I am not sure how Futuredial plans to get around this. I don’t think they will personally. They are very deceiving and will say anything to make you "stay tuned"

The only new phone added for Sprint was the 5600. I looked in the .ini file and for the dll and loaded the program, the LG PM325 was not there sorry.

someone mentioned on these boards recently that datapilot is releasing software soon that will support many new phones including the 5600 to be used as a modem. Check out their site.

"released soon" means nothing. Futuredial says this for every phone that comes out. It is a marketing term. Unless it is released it is all vaporware.

I spoke with datapilot today. They said they are expecting to release their software Friday, but it looks like it will be available tomorrow. They also say with their software the 5600 can be used as a modem.
That topic (5600 Modem / ) is being discussed in this thread...

EDIT - IT IS AVAILABLE NOW.

I got the FutureDial suite today. Out of the box it does not support the 5600. I checked their web-site and there are no updates for it. So I called them. The lady is emailing me the update but when I got the first email, a zip file, it will not unzip. So I called back and they are mailing me the update on CD... I don't really want to wait for it. Does anyone else have the update they can send to me or put on an ftp server?
Thanks!

If you reicived the update or know of an ftp server where i can get the update please let me know.
I got the software yesterday and sent an e-mail to future dial and they said the update is 20MB and they would have to burn it to CD and mail it to me, who knows how long that will take.

got the suite. got the update. neither worked. (couldn't find the phone on the list--i think the problem was that i downloaded the updates from the site after installing suite) after about 3 weeks of email and calling FD, i finally got someone on the phone (she put me on hold about four times and wasted about an hour of my anytime minutes!) who had me uninstall and reinstall suite AND LO AND BEHOLD there was the 5600. HOWEVER, now i can't get the port to recognize the phone.
any suggestions?

Try these:
##USB# ( ##872#) brings up a menu titled "USB MODE". It is different than the one in ##DEBUG# (##33284).
it has the options :
Modem, Composite, Storage, PictBridge
As of now, the later two options are not selectable.
These work as well:
##7382#
##738#
