Hi,

My tried and true Sanyo 5300 is on it's last legs. My goal has been to upgrade to the 5600, but with the 18-month rebate being mail-in, I can't right now. Has anyone recently done a replacement for a 5300 through Lockine? What have they been sending out?
Also... Do I have to do anything to make sure the Lockline replacement does not reset my rebate date?

Thanks,

Dave

you should just do it. you'll probably get a 5600. as far as resetting the rebate, you will just have to call and get a nice CS and explain your situation. However, when you get a 5600 for lockline replacement you definitely wont want to change phones for 18 months anyway.

I can't imagine they would send me a 5600 to replace a 5300. Not that I'd mind.

Manti already posted a lockline replacement sequence, but I can't find it.

Since you have the 5300, you will either get another 5300 or a 5500, 5600 or 7400. Just depends on what they have in stock that day!

Let us know what you get!

Why would Lock/Line send 5600s as 5300 replacements? It may be a 5XXX series phone, but feature-wise, that's overkill as a replacement.

8200 is more than enough phone for a 5300. A620 as well.

Congrats to everyone who got 5600s and 5500s or whatever. :D

the 8200 cant compare to the 5300 as far as features and sound quality. Sure the 5300 doesnt have speaker phone or RL but I'd take the 5300 over the cheap ass 8200. BTW I current own both phones. Also, you can probably kiss your rebate date goodbye. I tried to switch phone numbers between my 2 sprint accounts. the 5300 account has 150 rebate credit. CS told me that if I swap phone numbers between the accounts it would reset my rebate date since it will be a different phone on the account.

Wirelessly posted (Sanyo MM7400: Mozilla/4.0 (MobilePhone MM-5600/US/1.0) NetFront/3.1 MMP/2.0)

You Might Get A 5500 For Sure

Not true, when I switch phone #s from a 512 to a 210 it did not reset my rebate status, what happens is that you get a new number and to look up your account you need to tell them your old number. In that way they can track your anniversary date. I did that about 6 months ago and today I got this as an answer to my rebate:
Your rebate is approved and a check has been issued. Please allow 10 to 15 days for delivery from the issue date listed. Thank you

Now what you need to do is for someone in CS to note your account when you qualify for your rebate and you are responsible to keep the date. I qualified back in Jan '05 but waited until my phone was dead before buying a replacement.
