April 4th I just got my brand new mm5600. I was hyped especially when I learned you could make personal mp4 ringtones. I was using the Focus uploader and managed to upload 5 ringtones. Today I tried to send another ringer and it would not work, I repeated the send many times and it just wouldn't work. Then I took a closer look at the filename for anything wrong, and yes, I found a space in the filename. I fixed that, sent the file again and YATZEE! I the accepted the file on my sprint phone, but something else was wrong, the file size only read 0Kb. In midst of downloading 0kb my precious phone froze on me. I tried to remove the battery and restart the phone. That always works!...Nope, it starts up and greets me with a frozen still of Sanyo MM5600 and a red led then the screen blacks out and not a single function works, the keypad doesn't even light up when touched. Any Ideas? What type of troubleshooting is left. And I know I can always get a new phone but this is wierd.

Sounds like it's time for a trip to your local Sprint PCS store. Probably some stupid unplanned event trap like it checked the validity of a ringtone, found it to be invalid, so goes into diagnostic mode instead of easily deleting the invalid file. They'll probably just flash your phone or replace it. And I know, it's a cheap cheap copout answer (sorry) We could go back and forth. Try this - did that it doesn't work - how 'bout this? But when you really think about it, since it's not a question like "How do I get this to work on my phone", and since you won't really gain a whole lot of useful knowledge in fixing this problem (if it can be fixed) though it sounds like a cheap crappy answer, I really think it's the best course of action in this case and I've seen this very answer posted for lockup questions before. If someone has a better way though, I'd like to see it in case I ever need it someday but if it were me, it'd be a trip to the Sprint store.

Thanks for taking the time to assist me. I agree and will take that trip to Sprint.....Next time!. I am annoyed that I just didn't take that road. Ive already called lockline to rush me another phone and I have to wait 3 to 5 days, which means the long away Monday. Thankfully, this problem occured within the 14 day warranty, so they send another free of charge. Now I have to go through painful procedure of mailing back my busted phone and waiting. When it could have been as quick as a flash "no pun intended", and yep, to answer the question I busted another MM5600 before this transaction. Im just gonna quit tweaking with the phone and use its natural god gifted talent, with a couple of my own ringtones:)

Why didnt you just take it back to the store even if you are passed your return you have a 1 year sprint warranty? Then you wouldnt have to wait.....
