View Full Version : Sanyo PM 8200 -- are there issues with the speakerphone?

I just bought and activated a new Sanyo 8200 from Costco. I have only tried the speakerphone a few times, and each time I experienced dropouts, where the signal would appear to cut out. This occurred in my home, where I otherwise receive strong signal, and in my car. I just am wondering if it's a known bug (in which case perhaps I will exchange for a different phone or different model) or a defect in mine.
thanks

I tried the 8200 but was unhappy with the speakerphone. People were always saying: "I can't hear you. You're breaking up."
I returned it and purchased the 7400, with which I have been very happy.

Ah, interesting. The 7400 is also quite a bit pricier, if I am recalling correctly, yes?
thanks

I haven't had any dropped calls while using my speaker phone and it seems to work quite well. One thing that I have to keep in mind is that only one of us can talk at a time. I have to wait until they are done speaking before I can speak and they actually hear what I am saying. i guess patience is the key.

I have the 8200 and you do have to wait til the other is finished talking but sometimes if they are in a noisey place they still cant hear you because it is like they are talking the whole time with all the back ground noise so I am not to keen on the speakerphone for the 8200 because everyone i talk to on it always say they cant hear me and that is why!!!! But i never lose signal because of the speakerphone being on!!!

Yeah same problem here with users saying they can't hear me because the phone picks up noise in their background and never cuts the mic back on for me to speak. So I just think that they should have scarpped the speakerphone on the 8200, i don't think too many people use it. When they get it to be full duplex i will definitely buy the phone the first day it is released.
