Just wondering how many people still like their SCP-5300 . Because to me it is still a solid phone and I don't plan to upgrade unless I lose it or damage it beyond repair ! :

How do you feel about your SCP-5300 ?

Camera's on the newer phones aren't that much better than the 5300. The flash is still the best on the 5300. i guess u don't give n like most of us here. It's still a great phone. :)

I Loved That Phone. The Only Reason I Upgraded Was Because The Battery Life Deteriorated From So Much Use. Gone Through 3 Phones Since And Think That The 4050 Or 7400 Are Great Options When The Time Is Right.

I don't have any big use for a speakerphone or ReadyLink, and I'm not about to spend $400+ on a 5600, so my 5300 is still the best Sprint phone out there for me. My 2 year old battery also started to run low, but I found a genuine Sanyo battery on eBay for $5.00 and the phone's good as new!

I wanted to pick up a 5300 for a back up phone when Sprint had a clearance sale but Sprint really didn't have any clearance phones here in Ohio. :( I didn't really care for the 1 hole earpiece but it's still a great phone today. I really liked the small holster that radio shack sold for it. It's hard to find a good small holster for most of the phones today at the stores.

I've still got my 5300, and it does the job. There are features that I would like on the newer phones, but in Sprint's lineup I haven't found one that was sufficiently good enough to shell out the dinero they want for them. I usually end up forced to buy a new phone when my current one goes kaput.

The big problems with my 5300 are that the camera takes fuzzy pictures now, and lately I have been getting people complaining that they can't hear what I say, and get some dropped calls. Its stil hanging in, though.

My original (small) battery won't last a day anymore, with no talking, and with talking it lasts like an hour, so I had to switch up to my extended battery. It will last two days if I don't talk. If I use it for half an hour or more I can see my battery indicator drop by the end of the day.

I agree with all you guys..It is a good solid phone and only the weak point is the battery. I am also using the small battery and it only lasts for about a day til I get in the car or home to charge it up. But over all, a good phone..I've had it for past 2 years and haven't had a single problem with it :)

Only reason I switched to the 325 (from the 5300), is because the 325 came out.....Note: this is after my 5300's screen went out (due to be abusing the poor phone).
It truly was and still is a great phone! :)

Recently got it for my mom off of Ebay. Solid phone I guess, just a bit outdated. I think the 4920 would have suited her more (she used to have the 4900, plus she never charges her phone).

I kinda still like my 5300 except I get tired of the big extented battery but have no choice because the poor life of the standard. I hate not having SMS text messaging and having to connect to the internet. Thats bout all I can think of being its a Q4 2002 Model(Cant expect it to compete with the 2004/2005).

Yeah I forgot about text messaging. Connecting to the internet is really annoying and makes me use that feature rarely.

It's a lot cheaper than paying 10cents for text messaging.

I have had my plan for a while, and as far as I can tell I have unlimited text messaging, were I to get a new phone I should be grandfathered.

Like the rest of you, web messaging and the battery life are my only complaints...but the battery life is a direct reflection of the size of the screen, which is why I got this phone in the first place.

I'll probably get a new phone in a year or two because of how cheap they'll be, but I love mah 5300...

Dont forget the antenna. i never extended it in use but i liked to twist and bend it around at times as a bad habit. i was disapointed that sanyo didnt use it in the 5500. the menu's were ugly to look at but a solid phone.

Same here when people text me I sometimes dont even check it or write back because I feel its just to much of an hassle. Thats another reason Im thinking of Upgrading also I want some louder ringers(Aiming for the 7400 or the 5600).

Yes the 5300 has a very sturdy antenna, mine isn't bent at all.

OOOOO I just thought of one other thing that really gets on my nerves about this phone!!!! I like using the Vision on my phone and my phone likes the restart without notice(I know this is required to empty memory). O yea it freezes to sometimes. Those are my only complaints.

The oddest thing about mine is the whole life of the phone I only have about a 60% chance of a picture upload working. Typically I have to pull the battery on the phone when this happens. After doing that, uploads work. Vision almost always works (occasionally a reset is required for plain ole vision though). Sprint would never replace the phone because pulling the battery would always fix it.

i got my 325 because my 5300 was becoming a pita..slow vision and no sms and a dying battery

aside from that it was pretty good...for its time it was an awesome phone

I bought mine when they first came out. I haven't seen anything out there that I'd rather have. I have no use for RL.

I use webviewer and have noticed that once in awhile it will reboot phone. I think its because of the html on the page I was attempting to view.

The only thing I wish was that the ringers were louder. Battery life is so so. When it gets too bad, I'll just buy a new battery.
