When I try to transfer an mp3 to the media file on my mini disk it never completes and it freezes up. Once the program tells me to disconnect cable, I play song and it plays first few seconds and then a small clip of another song all together and then stops. It isnt transferring correctly. I have tried using another usb cable that didnt come with the phone. I connected the phone to a friend of mine and his transferred in a few seconds. So i know its not the phone. Does anyone know what problem this might be.

Sometimes the error message comes up like this: The request cannot be performed because of an I/O device error

what are you using to transfer your mp3 files...
try (if you haven't done so) using windows explorer...(assuming you have windows xp)
connect your phone
then open your "my music" folder (or whereever your music is)
and then select the mp3s you want to copy and click on copy in the blue area on left hand side of the screen
a window will come up asking where, double click the "removable disk" (the drive letter will be the next available letter, example if your cd drive is D, then most likely your minisd is E), then select the media folder under removable disk
now press copy at the bottom.
that should work for you. post back if you need more help.

You can paste into your removable drive but you still have to put it in your Media folder to play the song.

With SD card in and connected to your pc select MassStorage, go to your music file select file, right click select cut file, go to my computer select (f:), select media then paste song....that should do it for you

I ended up making a "music" folder in the media folder to make my my mp3s appear. They wouldn't appear using Windows Media Player or File Explore.

USB can be weird sometimes. Try unplugging the phone after doing the disconnect procedure, then plug it into a different USB port. Keep trying this on all of the USB ports your computer has. My mouse will only work on one port of mine, not on the others and sometimes my other ports will reinstall a driver for something if I use a different one. Worth a shot :)

I have a 5600 and i cant seem to get more than 2 mp3 songs on it. I have a 16 mb mini sd card. I put 2 songs on it and when I try to drag the 3rd file into the media folder, it says im out of free disk space. Am I doing something wrong? Please help!

Wirelessly posted (sanyo 5600: Mozilla/4.0 (MobilePhone MM-5600/US/1.0) NetFront/3.1 MMP/2.0)
this is simple. the files are probably too big. 16mb is only room enough for 2-3 good quality mp3's (size depends on length of song and bit rate)

YES!!!!! spend the cash buy a bigger mini SD card. Even is some how you were to shrink the files sizes the card would still only hold about 6 songs. And they would all sound crappy.I purhcased a 1 gig card for 70 bucks. I can get up to 200 mp3's on the card. But at the present moment I have 94 mp3's, about 40 3gp Music Video's and War Of The Worlds on My card.
