i just got a pm-325 a few days ago but ran into a problem i didnt have on my last sprint phone. whenever i get a text message, it has the phone number with a 1- in front of it... this makes it difficult to know who it is because i dont know all the people in my phone book numbers by memory. is this some kind of option i can turn off?

A couple of threads discuss this... http://www.sprintusers.com/forum/showthread.php?t=61612&highlight=prefix

Short answer is no...the changes are for international text, so adjust your habits accordingly.

I suggest adding the number with a one to the "other number" section of each contact that matters...

Yeah, this seems to be a problem with most phones...

but not the Toshiba Vm4050, which seems just a bit smarter as far as phones go.

I don't own a Toshi, but I too have yet to experience this issue.

Are there any contacts that are not Sprint?

I used to have some, but they all switched, so I can't say the same with any surety...

I checked with Sprint, They updated the Text message servers to be able to txt to international phones. So just add a "1" to all your enteries.

It's ridiculous to have "add a 1" as a solution. If you do that, then they don't get identified with caller id when the call comes in. And adding another entry on my phone under their name with a 1 isnt a solution cause I have contacts that have all the numbers taken for one contact.
