Only thing you can do is knock out the bass. Ultimately though, QCP ringers are going to be crappy quality no matter what you do to them.

Not too helpful of advice there...
As far as I understand it, ONLY the current Multimedia phones (Sanyo 5600 & 7400, Samsung MM700) play MP4 ringers. They are great, with super quality, but unfortunately not much of an option for other phones. The Toshiba 4050 and LG (can't remember the model number) may play MP3 ringers, but otherwise you're pretty stuck with QCP.
As flipn0tic said, the best thing to do is lower the bass, then increase the vocals or other aspects of the song/sound you're using. I've fiddled with Adobe Audition to do this, and they've got craploads of filters to use and try for this purpose. (Warning! Audition is very complicated unless you're used to advanced sound editing progs! It may take some time to figure out!) Other sound editing programs work very well, too - I've used GoldWave in the past.
Good luck!
