Just some clarification. The a210 IS a bluetooth adapter. And it worked with the 8200 so I would say YES.

Yes, the a210 should work with any phone that has a standard 2.5 mm headset jack.

That's part of my question. The 2.5mm jack on the 5600 is a 4 conductor, not the typical 3 conductor (stereo) as in the A210.

Are you sure about this? Sprint is pretty adamant about universal accessories. Most of their phones accept the universal Sprint charger, and all of their phones that I know of accept a standard 2.5 mm plug.
The only thing I could think of is that the 5600 has a four conductor plug in order to make use of a headset with true stereo sound, but those are generally very expensive. At any rate, you could make an adapter to make it work. You'd just have to find a raw four conductor 2.5 mm plug, a project box, and a standard three conductor 2.5 mm female jack and do some soldering.

Any 2.5mm three conductor will work in the 5600.This is what I use and it works just fine.

Be careful, with BT headsets there are different kinds of "works with": manual mode, automatic mode, and semi-automatic mode.
In fully automatic mode, you can hit a button on the headset to trigger voice dialing, and when your phone call terminates (for whatever reason) the link between the BT devices shuts down.
In semi-automatic, you can trigger voice dialing but the BT link does not automatically shut down -- which can drain your headset battery really fast.
In manual mode, you have to control everything about the call from the phone, but the audio link between the headset and phone are manually toggled from the headset. (Example: press-and-hold Talk to activate voice dialing and also press a button on the headset to activate the audio link, then press End on the phone and also deactivate the link from the headset.)
YMMV - this is based on my experience with a single BT headset and adapter, but I expect you might find these or other variations in operational compatibility between BT devices. Unless you can find someone who has tried exactly the combination you're considering and can tell you how it operates, your only alternative may be to purchase the BT device and conduct your own evaluation.
Just be clear on the return policy ahead the order or purchase, such as whether you'd need to pay a re-stocking fee if the device doesn't measure up to your expectations.
