Originally I had replaced my 5600 because of a creaky hinge.
The new one I have had for about 3 days and it's been great w/ no problems. I haven't had a chance to try out the headphones until now, and I plug them in and it only has sound in one ear! :eyebrow:
If I pull it out a little and mess with the connection for moments it will go in both ears, but if I plug it in all the way, no worky... Do I have to change a setting or connection on my phone, or what?
Do you think it's the headphones, the phone, or a setting?!!
Help!!!!!

****, I probably should have put them in the old phone box and taken the other ones out when I swapped it!!!!
:( I feel not so good!
I need these headphones for an upcoming trip!
Just a guess but I bet it's an internal problem in the phone. Sounds like it's not making a solid connection with the male end of the headphone jack, and it probably never will. Take and back and exchange it again, better to do it sooner than later.

It COULD be the headphones. Take it back to the store and try another set of headphones before making the swap.

headphones for an upcoming trip!If you take them to the sprint store get them to try another set of headphones first (I think thats the problem)they should have a set in stock. If not I am sure they can get a set in a couple of days. Oh and they would be free of charge of course.

Can these things work normally with something else, like a Walkman? If so, try them in another piece of equipment. If the same problem doesn't develop, exchange it for another 5600 tomorrow. Piece of cake.
Or if it's just the headphones, even easier for you.
Wow wow wow. Thanks for writing this post and I hope you got your issue figured out.
After reading your original post I thought hey, I better try this out with my earphones. So I finally ripped the package open this morning and tried litening to my tunes through the buds.
Wow, I am amazed! It has been quite a while (years) since I've used earbuds/headphones and all I can say is that the quality here has blown me away! :tu:

Well after going to my sprint store and getting another set of headphones, this is what happened. The new set will work, but you have to let it be pulle dout like a fraction of a centimeter more than all the way in (so i have to insert the plug but pull it out a little for it to work.
And then when I get a phone call with them plugged in, the ringer starts playing, but if I hit the button on the headset it doesn't do anything except change the volume of the ringer... Isn't it supposed to answer the call (like a hands free?).... and if I am on the call it appears that the mic on the hands free doesn't work.
Mind you this is the second set of headphones, so I doubt if that isn't working properly that it is the headphones..
This is just a bad situation as this is already my second 5600 (last one was returned after a horribly creaky hinge)...
So my question is, is that the way the headphones work for everyone, or should I swap my 5600 for the third and hopefully final time?

I tried it on another mm-5600 and it seems to do the same thing. Wow, does anyone know if this is how it is supposed to be? Someone let me know so I know whether to swap or keep my current one.

well, first off....it should work when you plug it all the way in.....if you have to play with it and pull it out a little i would return it for a new one because the phone is not right....as far as the mic button.....there is an option in the settings menu....i am not sure which one it is under but there is an option that is for the turbo button.....that is the mic button.....the default is off so that button wont work....you have to change it to work.....

Can anyone else confirm that you are supposed to be able to push it all the way in without any problem. (There was an option to set it to answer and now that works)
So now the only issue is that I cannot push it all the way in, I have to pull it out like this "." much.

No one can just tell me that theirs either can plug in all the way or cannot plug in all the way? Thanks...
And I have no idea why this is in the Ringers, apps, games, videos etc. section of the forum... :-/

i had two 5600's.....they both have to be pushed in all the way.....trust me...have you ever had a headset that you had to play with and pull it out a little to get it to work....that happens after you have the thing for a while and you have to play with it to work......no new item should do that...if you push the plug in all the way and it doesnt work.....then your phone or your earphones are bad.....bottom line....something is wrong
