Tell me about it. Sprint's total charges on our plan after add-ons comes to $125. After taxes and local fees the monthly bill winds up around ~140. It's ridiculous.

FYI, we took a poll on this issue of taxes a couple months ago. You can find it at http://www.sprintusers.com/forum/showthread.php?t=57393&page=1&pp=15&highlight=poll+taxes.
There is apparently a mode in the distribution at around 12+-2% and another at around 20+-4%. It should come as no surprise that those living in DE have VERY low taxes (less than 10%, or as one poster recounted, less than $6 on a total bill of $66). Oregon was another good one... less than $5 on a total of $89.

Sometimes people ask what their payments will be after taxes...I have no idea. I usually pull a number out of my ass between 15% and 20% of monthy charges.
Just curious...why is this in the vision forum?

18% is safe, because California has some of the highest taxes in the country...aside from Taxacuhsetts... Personally, I would go with a straight twenty percent. The customer will be happy the taxes are lower than you said, and you are less likely to under-estimate.

That's one nice thing about being third party...I can print up a proration sheet for either Sprint or Verizon and hand it to a customer...a hard thing to do over the phone.
Of course, I too end up guesstimating, because I can only print that as the last thing once the activation is complete.
