View Full Version : 5600, text issues (Send Failed message)

Having graduated to a 5600 from my arcahic 5150, I'm having some issues with text messaging. When sending messages, 8/10 times, I receive a "Send Failed" message, only to hear from the textee that the message did in fact go through- sometimes as many as three times at once. Since getting this phone, I've not been able to send two back to back messages without something messing up- either the recipient not getting it at all, or them getting it two or three times. Anyone else have this issue?

Wow now that's quite an upgrade! Far as the text messaging issue I haven't had that problem in a while... last I had it was maybe over the summer. It would say Sending failed but the message actually went thru, just as u described. Might wanna call them and see if there are any issues in your area.

Same thing started happening to me this morning. Im in CT and I never had the problem until today. I had this issue before on my 5500 periodically. This must be a network problem.

I just called Sprint (*2).. They are aware of this problem. It is nation wide. However, if everyone calls, maybe it'll get fixed quicker. : )

Mine started working again. Odd thing is, I'm back at home now. I bet when I go back to work tomorrow it won't be working again.

My son sent me what turned out to be seven copies of the same text message this morning around 11:30am EST from his 8200. He was getting the 'send failed' error repeatedly. At least we know now it wasn't his phone. For me, this is one advantage of having shortmail - those messages don't count against my 100 allowance.

I live in Iowa and have had it happen to me a few times. Most of the time I retry to send it again and it goes through the 2nd time.

I had a sanyo 8100 before. I have IM forwarding on to goto my cell phone. I know I can be talking to someone on AIM on my pc and it will go to my cell phone. I can goto my cell phone and only have 1 message. when I click on the link, it shows ALL the messages that the person sent me.

On the 5600, it will send me an alert for every message. Is there an option to combine the messages (other then turning off IM forwarding when I am on my pc). I really liked that feature on the 8100. I have web unlimited messages but was nice having all the info saved in the one message and is easier then deleting 20+ messages and sort through them to see who it is from.(i might be talking to more then 1 person at a time, i get alerts for sports scores etc. (i know i can hit erase all and do it that way). is there a limit to how many messages you can have on your phone at one time?

I do like retrieving messages better on the 5600, it is easier.. I wish there was a way to change the font size for AIM on the 5600.. Has anyone found a way to change font size?

Another thing I like about the 5600 is then when you bookmark a website, you can move it (up or down). I know on my 8100, Once it was bookmarked, it couldnt be moved (unless you delete it and save it where you wanted it) (if there was a way on the 8100, I never figured it out.

One last thing, where do SMS messages show up on sprint website. when I go to current usage, under wireless web messages, it says unlimited. I have 98. I know some of those messages have been through AIM and some SMS. Is there a way to tell how many are SMS so I dont go over my limit. From what I have read in previous posts about being grandfathered in, I think I just missed it by a couple of days. I signed up for sprint about the first week - week and a half of January 2004..

Well SMS was working but now I'm getting the no server response errors again. Is it happening everywhere? What's going on with Sprint lately?!
