Sanyo SCP-5500 Ear Speaker is Dead?!

Hello, there...

I got my Sanyo SCP-5500 about a year ago, and all of the sudden yesterday I wasn't able to hear anyone when they called. At first I was annoyed because I thought my sister was calling me and saying nothing. Once I tried to check my Voicemail, however, I realized the problem was me!

The rest of the phone works fine... the small display on the face, the external speaker... all is well except for the fact that I can't hear anything! They can hear me, but I hear nothing.

When I use a headset, the phone works fine. So, I suppose it isn't a life or death problem.

Unfortunately, I'm an idiot and I don't have any equipment protection. This is my 4th phone with Sprint, and I've never had a problem before. That'll teach me, eh?

I was just wondering if anyone else has ever had this problem? I keep thinking I just set something wrong, but I know the truth.. 'tis dead. Like I said, the headset works but that is a bit annoying!

Do you think it would be an expensive problem to have repaired? I thought about taking the phone apart, but I can't find a screwdriver small enough! ;)

I love pandas! haha anyhoo.. nope hasnt happened to mine.. hopefully wont.. but mines fine. mine has taken a severe beating over the 5 or so months ive had it.. but all is working perfectly! speakerphone still works right?

Yep, speakerphone works too.

I don't get it. It worked fine yesterday...talked on it like always. I didn't drop it, didn't do anything... I guess it had one flip too many.

Ooooh well. Gives me an excuse to splurge on a new phone. ;) I'm thinking about the 5600. I dunno yet.

I'm not eligible for a new phone credit until July... but we'll just see about that. :hee:

hmm.. lucky you.. my next credit comes on april fools day of 06 :(:(

try rebooting it.. and/or taking out the battery for a few mins and putting it back in.. try talking while its charging. dont know if any of these ideas will work but give em a try?

Oh, I've done everything to it. Even threw it across the room... figured it might knock something back into place. ;)

haha! yeh.. and luckily it wont break even if u do throw it at something or someone.. haha cough i never did that.. no really.. i didnt.. but ive heard of someone who did... but that wont work. lol
