I currently have a Sanyo 7300 phone which has been great in eveyr way except for reception. I purchased this Sanyo because I never had reception problems with the previous Sanyo I owned. This 7300, however, has given me nothing but problems. I will have the phone sitting on the desk in front of me and I will get the voicemail chime even though the phone never rang. Today I called a client who was pissed off because he said he had tried to call me 5 times today and he could never get a hold of me. My phone only showed 2 missed calls and none from him. I am self-employed and so it is important that I answer my phone. Can you guys reccomend a phone with excellent reception that won't break the bank? * < $300

You may have a bum phone. When my wife bought her Sanyo 4900 a few months ago, the first phone behaved exactly like yours.
We went back and exchanged it for another 4900, and this time the phone works great.
I got the new mm7400 which has great reception as well.

You Can Go For A Candy Bar Phone. . . The 4920 And The 4900 Are Known To Have Excellent Reception.

My 8200 had mediocre reception. The 8100, previous to it, and the 7400 I have now have noticably better reception. I work right on the edge of Sprint service in my area. My 8200 would loose its signal on my drive home, the 8100, and 7400 did not. FWIW, my Nokia 6225 also had problems.

Yeah I Wouldn't Recommend The 8200 Reception Wise.

my previous phone was a Sanyo candy bar phone. I forgot what model it was, but it had only a monotone screen that was not useful for must. However, it had remarkably good reception and was thin and compact enough to go nearly unnoticed in my pocket. The 7300 is a veritable brick compared to my previous phone.

Compared to my VGA1000, the PM-325 has wonderful reception. It may even be better than my old 8100.

No matter what people say, I've never had good luck with the Sanyo phones - even the 49XX series. I swear though, the T608 has the best reception I've ever had on Sprint. Only downside is the phone's OS blows and is buggy and the battery life is awful. Besides that, the reception is excellent. Too bad SE won't work with Sprint anymore...

Sanyo phones seem to have really good reception. With my a620 I could not get any reception at my apartment. With the PM-325 I get two bars of roaming. The reception seemed to NEVER be full on my a620, and the PM-325 seems to have it nearly all the time there is decent reception.

The LG 325 has great reception in a lot of the places I visit.. free roaming makes it even better..
