So my sanyo 8100 phone broke (see link below) And lockline sent me the samsung vga 1000.
My gf has this phone and it sucks. Plus i dont have any of the chargers for this phone. And i spent alot of money and time setting up hands free for my sanyo 8100 in my car. I was hoping that i would just get the 8100 again, or possibly the 8200. What should i do, what are my options?

find out what's different between the 8100 and samsung. cite those differences when you call lockline back.

for example, the 8100 has Digital TTY/TDD (Enables those who are deaf and hard of hearing to use a special TTY text device with digital service.) tell them that your gf uses that phone and she's partially deaf.

the sanyo also has PC SYNC whereas the samsung doesn't

According to Phonescoop.com (http://www.phonescoop.com/phones/compare.php?id%5B%5D=293&id%5B%5D=318&id%5B%5D=&id%5B%5D=&id%5B%5D=), the a620 also has no call screening and PC Sync capabilities. Mention them all as the reason, but the "deaf" idea that mcurtiss brought up is your money shot. Pure genius, that one.

Tell them YOU are hard of hearing not your gf, they won't care about that...

i was thinking that, but then, will they ask how i am talking to them then? Or ask me why i am not using a tty device?

also if i say that it is my "wife" that is hard of hearing, they will beleive that

http://reviews.cnet.com/Samsung_VGA_1000/4507-6454_7-30588516.html

this says that the vga 1000 is tty compatible, but not digital, whats the difference?

Lockline once replaced my a-500 with a really long thin black and white phone. It took me a week, but i discovered that the thin phone was not trimode while the a500 was. Sometimes they are wrong, you just need to get in there and work your mojo...or something similar to mojo.

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but I seem to recall the Samsung supporting tty. I think it's documented in the owner's manual. Hit ##TTY then OK.

I know you think it sucks but you actually made out better with the VGA1000. The Sanyo 8100 has a CIF camera and the VGA1000 has a better resolution camera, a VGA. It also has a flash. The other features are nominal at best and not what Lock/Line typically looks at as "common" features. Also remember that Lock/Line can send you a phone with COMPARABLE features, not EXACT features...Also remember that they start with the exact model you had for your fulfillment, but if that model is not available (new or refurbished) they reserve the right to fulfill your claim with a COMPARABLE model and they just did that.

I agree, the VGA1000 isn't a bad match for the SCP-8100.

Why did you title the thread "Lockline sent me a bad phone" when they did exactly what they were supposed to do and the phone works? A bad phone in my eyes is a phone that doesn't work, or I am way off here

In this case, "Bad" meant "Not up-to-par with my tastes."

The same thing happened to me. I got a new phone and it wasn't exactly what I wanted. I called them up to see if I had any options since I wasn't happy with my replacement. Her first question was "Is there anything wrong with the phone we sent you?"

I told her that I called my sister that day, and I could hear her, but she couldn't hear me. (technically that was true, but it only happened one time) She entered that note into the system and they shipped me a new phone the next day. She also added a note specifying the type of phone I was looking for, and this time they sent me the right model.

Seem sthat the a620 isn't a bad swap. Feature-wise it is the closest thing I'm sure they could give you.

a620 honestly.. i think it IS better.. the screen.. camera.. alot of things, buut, i would take the sanyo over it haha. so if you havent already.. im going to repeat it.. call and say your gf is hearing impaired.. or what will said would work.. because you would have to have someone else call if you were.. so try that

posts like this irritate me, they notate the account just to appease the customer, they have no control over what is sent, they push a button to place an order for the same phone active on the account at the date of loss and that is it. you just got lucky, your phone was available when the order went in.
