i got a psp tha morning it came out and i dont kno how to play online or if it costs to play online...does anyone know? any help is definetly appreciated!

No costs.....just gotta have a Wifi connection.

It all depends on the game.....look at the back of the box......see where it says Wifi Compatible....is it says "Ad hoc" next to it, that means that you can connect to other PSPs around you. If it says "Infrastructure" next to Wifi, then that means the game can go online and play against others over the 'net.

There is a method that you can use to play the Ad hoc games over the net, but it requires more work.

and also how far do u think that the distance will b for how close tha person im playing has to b? bc i kinda liv back n tha sticks

Yes, for a Wifi connection, you would normally have DSL or Cable.

And, as for in between PSPs......the range is going to be pretty close......but, who knows how far.

100 feet at most? I assume it would be the same max distance as whatever spec WiFi the PSP uses.

its the same distance as bluetooth.. about 30 feet at least thats what it says in my PSP manual..
