Sorry bud,
That's not going to happen. On Sprints network you can't accept/send SMS messages from/to foreign carriers.. (Well you can but theres a very small list of carriers abroad). You were right though, AT&T does/did allow you to text internationally.
Sorry.

...Sprint is "working on it" meaning it's in BETA (i.e. buggy).
Keep reading, once international text comes through there will be hubbub...

i thought sprint could accept international but couldn't send. wrong?
It would depend on carrier compatibility to some degree, wouldn't it?
...looks like we will all learn something...

Thanks for your answer to my question !!!! :)
.... Why sprint tell to us that this service works and they are still announcing in the help what they have on the Web Page. They are lying to us and they need to fix it that.

I called them . The only explanation what they told me is that this can not be possible !!! ... and later ( after 20' ) a technician answer me and suggest that my friends go to the SPRINT WEB and click to the text message link :furious:
Due to this problem they offer me free!!! 2 months of vision pack free
NO SOLUTION AND NO EXPLANATION. !!!
It was 2 months ago and i can see that they are still offering this service in the help of sprint WEB .
They can't lie to Us.
But..... anyway I have this service and i hope that this problem can be solved.
I will insist... :bang:

I was in the Philippines just last week and I tried the sprint web page I was able to type in everything but it just wouldn't send. Seemed like something was blocking the access. I tried several times but it just didn't send. I ended up sending my nephew an email/sms via "#@sprintpcs.com"
and that seemed to work but I couldn't get an answer on how my nephew could text the phone (philippines smart) I was using via email.

Some countries IPs have been blocked SMS wise via the website due to SPAM issues.
As for International SMS...one day at a time... the rules for Intl SMS are not the same as national.

What phone do you have? Is it SMS or Shortmail?
Shortmail does not support sending or receiving international msgs.

I have a Sanyo PM-8200 .
It's SMS .
Here ... We can send short messages to another phone with our phone if only we put the phone number. The same thing my friends were doing with their phone... but.. nothing happen.
No explanation.

DF -- what the heck are you talking about? You mean the problem that sprint isn't smart enough to get on the "+" int'l dial code bandwagon? As a user of phones in several other contries where I've used Int'l SMS, I can't imagine what you're saying....? Please explain...
