I've heard about all the people calling retention and bashing them so I'm not going to even get into it. But I've had Sprint since 2001. I'm not under a contract. I already have the $40/750AT min retention plan. When I got my 4500 back in March 04 and switched to SMS I had unlimited text messaging up until October 04. Then all of a sudden they started charging me for all text messages past 100. I was getting charged a little here and there but I didn't notice that my text messaging wasn't unlimited until december where i was charged for 1038 additional messages. When i talked to a rep, I explained to him my situation, and he said he's refund the money for the 1038 and he'd put unlimited text messaging back in my plan. then come to find out this month, he didn't put it back to normal. he added the $5.00 option for unlimited text. When I called a rep again, she told me that I should have been being charged the whole time...How can this be when all of my roommates have unlimited text at no charge. it seems like they are trying to cheat me. does anyone have any recommendations? thanks.

First of all, if you read any of my articles, you will see that I never resort to "bashing" any Sprint rep. That is not only morally & professionally bad, but bad business practice.

I had a similar situation as yours in which I had free text messaging and was taken off "accidently". After several calls to Sprint (dozens upon dozens of calls), a nice rep converted my phone from $20 APP to $10 APP and then added 5 bucks for text messaging making it $15 APP. So I get an even better deal and the problem was fixed.

I will warn you that you MUST be persistant with Sprint but above all, be nice and be civil as you call them over and over and over again for them to correct THEIR mistake. :(

Vary it up a bit.... Be nice most of the time, but heck.... go ahead and blow your top on some of them.
Blew up on a store rep's face when she was acting stupid with me. The damn phone froze one me for an entire day. I couldn't make a Fing phone call to the hospital in regards to a health emergency a friend of mine was having. I was NOT about to have her pass me to another rep so she wouldn't have to deal with her job. I have a problem that's under warranty and she deals with it. That simple.

Seriously though, be nice to the reps first. If they get stupid, then mess with them, you're the one spending the money on your service, not them

Your best bet, print previous bills and use that as argument. There's no such thing as an 'accidental' plan. Either it's in the system or its not.

I believe there is now a seperate code for free unl text. I say this because in November when I got the mm7400, sprint changed my Premium vision pack, which had unl text, unl pic mail AND a $10 DL credit, to the picture pack...without my knowledge. They actually did this to two of my lines. I didnt find out until a month later. I have since switched the vision packs on several of my lines, all with the assurance that I would still receive free unl text. Suprisingly, it has worked and I've retained my unl text.

Yes of course. I did not imply that one needs to be an idiot.

I always take the nice civil approach and do it even at times when I should not. However, when the times does come for me to get mad, TRUST ME, I take all of the ANGER I built up with other reps and I LET IT ALL OUT AT ONCE ON THAT ONE IDIOT REP! :hee:

Works like a charm I say - Its amazing how good I feel afterwards.

Sprint is ****ed in alot of ways... I have called the **** out of them from all over the country and worldwide, sometimes they give me **** other times they help me out. If I were you I would keep addressing the problem to them, make it known that they are screwing you and that your intellegence isnt to be insulted. If they still give you ****, tell them you want to talk to there legal dept. The best way to get your problem sloved is to show them what you had when you signed your contract plan, so it shows that you had unlimited txt. go to your local store.

I had this one chick change over my damn plan... with out permission. then when I called back ppl would tell me something diffrent, the thing with sprint is that you never get someone in the same state as you, so they think they need to add all this **** to your phone and charge you for it, when you dont need it, Like roaming. roaming in cali, is free, in Florida it isnt... so they wanted to ****in add roaming charges to my phone. my point is here, dont let them **** you with this unlimited msgs thing, your going to have to call them 500 times or go into your store, but in the end it can be sloved. and on another note. make sure you check online for plans.. for 65.00 a month and 1100 anytime mins.. you can add a line for free, now that is what it says online. but if you call PCS cs they will try to get you to pay more.

Your best bet is to go to the store in your state. and address them of this problem, you dont want to charged for one thing, if that thing is free in your state.

right now im paying 70 a month for 800 mins on two phones, now they tell me the second line id free if you have a plan that is over 50.00 a month... they lie.. so no matter what, your not paying less. your paying more.
and becareful with what your purchase, because your taxes and fees alone will kill you.

Like roaming. roaming in cali, is free, in Florida it isnt...

Romaing is Free in California? I pay 5 bucks to get Roaming - Should I not be paing 5 bucks for this? I live in California.

As for the rest of your notes, I agree 100%. Sprint will try to screw you 8 ways til Sunday. You will also get Sprint reps or Sprint wanabes here trying to guilt you into telling you not to call Sprint, or not to bother Sprint.

Bottom Line: Keep calling Sprint, after a few months of daily calls, I am willing to bet that you will get a decent plan. :D

roaming is free in MOST of california depending on your plan (not included in area wide plans). it would require that you renew your contract to change to the new plans (unless you last renewed your agreement less than 3 months ago). is it possible that you changed phones? older phones used shortmail which was unlimited, the new sms text messaging is different and not unlimited. there is no way to put the old vision plans back onto the account. call as much as you like, but you will get the same answer. There is a little pop up error message for the rep that says, "this plan is expired in this coverage area".
