Hi everyone. First off I have to say what a great phone the 5600 is. It is such a step up from my 8100. I don't mind the increase in size and the extra weight because the phone feels solid and well constructed. The screen, speakerphone and camera are all very good (to me that is). Did I mention how much better the battery life is? My 8100 used to need a charge after texting and talking on hte phone daily. After having the phone a week I've charged it maybe 2 twice. Anyways the reason I am writing is that I tried using Biptpim 7.28 to upload my phone book from my 8100. I was able to do it by setting my phone as a 5500. The only problem is that the numbers for cell, work and home got mixed up. Also my pictures didn't get transferred either. Has anyone gotten Bitpim to work with their 5600? If not I'll just wait for an update it's not a real big deal... :(

OK, I must be doing something wrong. When I plug in my 5600, the USB modem port is not recognized. Works fine with my 5300.
What am I doing wrong?

i had the same problem. i had another sprint user supply me with some futuredial drivers and went through a moderately lengthy download and installation procedure, but after the dust cleared, i was able to use bitpim with my 5600. only thing was, it jumbled up the entry types (mobile now home, home now mobile, etc.).

All you need to use, if you are going to risk your phone, is 5500 usb drivers. When you plug in the phone after that, choose standby, or something like that. Then use BitPim under 7400 mode. It worked for me, but again, I must stress that its not supported yet and could cause damage to your phone as someone has already stated earlier in another thread.

Apparantly, no. I have been using DataPilot with my 5300.
Next stupid question, where do I get a 5600 USB driver? Thanks!

Okay, I hate to bring back an old thread. But I figured there was no use for a new one...
I just got a 5600 and I was trying to use BitPim on it. I cannot get it to detect the phone. I've installed the drivers for the 7400 from the sanyo website. But other than that, I have made no progress. Can anyone help me out a bit ?
